Movie Series - FernGully: The Last Rainforest

FernGully: The Last Rainforest was released in 1992 by Fox. It took place in an Australian rainforest inhabited by fairies and animals. A fairy named Crysta (voiced by Samantha Mathis) is fascinated by the possibility that humans live beyond the mountain, despite being told they are extinct. A bat, Batty Koda (voiced by Robin Williams), was used as a lab experiment by humans, and asserts that not only are they are not extinct as once thought, but that they are dangerous. As they speak, a group of humans are clearing the rainforest. They cut down a large tree, freeing Hexxus (voiced by Tim Curry), an evil spirit who seeks revenge against the fairies and thrives on pollution. One of the workers, Zak (voiced by Jonathan Ward), is shrunk by Crysta and taken to her world. FernGully 2: The Magical Rescue, was released to video in 1998. None of the original voice actors reprised their roles in this sequel. In it, the characters are caring for baby animals, who wind up being kidnapped by poachers.

1 A great movie from when I was younger. Then they ruined it by making a sequel. It was awful, and loaded with problems. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on June 13, 2009, 12:14 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
