This was a great show when it first came out. For a couple of years it had a great combination of humor and politics. The running gag with Murphy's secretary always cracked me up. I liked the initial relationship between Miles and Murphy, of the so-called boss and head-strong head reporter. -- Submitted By: (Englebert) on January 26, 2014, 4:01 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
The show sucked because Murphy was a 180-proof bi0tch. Politics had nothing to do with it, IMO. -- Submitted By: (Mythigator) on April 22, 2010, 3:29 pm - (-3 votes) - Login to Vote

BTW, we're talking about a show that turned family values into a phrase to be mocked forevermore when in fact the destruction of said values was the one thing Quayle was actually right about and has reached tipping point level today! -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on April 14, 2010, 10:57 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
MCS, it's not paranoia when everyone's actually out to get you, and has been for at least the last 20 years. Right before Obama was elected you'd have thought Republicans were some evil group of aliens in human disguise like the lizards from V! Now I think people are finally seeing where the TRUE problem lies, but unfortunately it's probably too late since these sheep gave the Dems control of the presidency *and* Congress first. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on April 14, 2010, 10:54 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
It has nothing to do with paranoia. It is what it is (or was). The show, when it got around to doing politics, was pretty much bent to the left and sometimes expressed that through wishful thinking storylines. The violent "republican gets injured" scenarios was a real turn off. -- Submitted By: (bmovies) on April 10, 2010, 3:13 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Bmovies, are you really that paranoid that you think everyone is out to get Republicans? -- Submitted By: (MCS) on April 1, 2010, 9:22 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
The thing that most disturbed me about this show was how every so often someone would walk into the office to relate a recent story in which some Republican (and it was always a Republican) became physically and violently injured. Paraphrasing "There was a bus crash and Pat Buchanan was on board!". I also seem to recall they did a storyline revolving around Newt Gingrich falling down a flight of steps and breaking his leg. You could see this was all wishful thinking in the heads of those behind the cameras that wrote up these scenarios. I imagine they would have happily filmed Republicans getting assassinated storylines if only they knew how to get away with it -- Submitted By: (bmovies) on December 19, 2009, 7:27 am - (-1 votes) - Login to Vote
Oh dear lord this show was horrible. I don't even know who the father of Murphy's kid was, and the sad part is I think that was the whole point! She might as well have just gone on Maury and trotted out a parade of guys to see who was the "baby daddy". -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on July 14, 2009, 4:03 pm - (-1 votes) - Login to Vote
