I literally couldn't care less about this show, but Icemouth's comment is as good a boning reason as any other I've seen. When I read it an involuntary 'What?!" escaped my lips. Now THAT was bad (the moment, not the post). -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on July 19, 2015, 1:46 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
When Joan quit the law firm to go work at the corn dog place in the mall. -- Submitted By: (Icemouth) on July 19, 2015, 11:56 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Toni's departutre left a void in the show. The producers attempted to fill the void with William's annoying fiancee Monica but she was definitely no Toni Childs. -- Submitted By: (Icemouth) on July 19, 2015, 11:55 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
This was not a Shark Jump moment but remember when everyone got mad at Lynn's sister Tanya because she told Joan how it was, and sung the n word along with everyone else in Ronnie's salon. Um, it was so obvious she was just singing along with the Jay Z song and was not trying to be derogatory. But suddenly everyone's opinion of her changed like she had rode in on a horse wearing a white sheet. And didn't I hear Maya call her a wigger when they first met her? That's not derogatory? -- Submitted By: (Icemouth) on July 19, 2015, 11:51 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
William was awesome dude. He was the fuckin' man. -- Submitted By: (JTScomments) on September 7, 2014, 5:54 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
The episode where Maya breaks up with Stan and he goes all pyscho and shows up at her apartment after hanging out with Darnell is definitely one of my favorites. The acting was at it's best in Seasons 2 & 3. -- Submitted By: (JTScomments) on September 7, 2014, 5:52 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Why were all Lynn's guys on the show always ugly (except for like 1)? Were the producers mad at Persia or something??? Like, "HA! That's what you get!!!!" -- Submitted By: (JTScomments) on September 7, 2014, 5:49 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
I love the show but the episode where Lynn suspects that the man she slept with might be her biological brother, gross. -- Submitted By: (JTScomments) on September 7, 2014, 5:47 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
Nothing personal against Keesha Sharp but why did the wardrobe people have Monica wearing Toni's clothes? That annoyed me more than anything. It's like they thought we wouldn't notice that they were trying to make Monica act like Toni or notice that Monica was wearing Toni's shirts and dresses. And then you wonder why so many Girlfriends' fans disliked Monica?? -- Submitted By: (JTScomments) on September 7, 2014, 5:46 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Hat's off to Mara Brock Akil and Kelsey Grammer though. This was an awesome show for a full 6 seasons. -- Submitted By: (JTScomments) on September 7, 2014, 5:42 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
When Joan's entire existance became centered around "having a man". How about focusing on your own happiness and goals instead of acting like not having a man is the end of the damn world? Her behavior became so grating that I couldn't even watch Seasons 7 & 8 all the way through. Don't get me wrong, I liked Joan in the earlier seasons, because she seemed more grounded then (far from perfect, but more sensible when it came to major decisions). I liked how she laughed at herself sometimes. But then eventually, Joan became super cocky, stuffy (although she had always been a bit pretentious it got worse). She just drops everything she's ever accomplished to jump from job to job, finally decides to open the J Spot and when it actually starts to generate some business, she turns all stuck up and disses her friends, goes to an A List party only to be left drunk on the steps by Wayne Brady, etc. I liked the episode but by that point I stopped liking Joan, who used to be one of my favorite characters. -- Submitted By: (JTScomments) on September 7, 2014, 5:40 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
Darnell was cute but mean a lot of the time. -- Submitted By: (JTScomments) on September 7, 2014, 5:30 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
William and Joan were better off as friends. When they got together, their relationship was too corny/nerdy and it got annoying. When they were friends, they balanced each other out. When they dated, it was Cornball City, USA. -- Submitted By: (JTScomments) on September 7, 2014, 5:27 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
I liked the episode where we find out that Tammy (Kelly Rowland) helped carjack Toni. I knew Tammy seemed a little too innocent but I still didn't see that coming. It was a nice twist. Also liked how it tied into Toni's custody battle. -- Submitted By: (JTScomments) on September 7, 2014, 1:49 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
I'm surprised that nobody mentioned that season finale where Lynn proposed to that stranger on the cliff who was about to commit suicide. So basically, if someone is about to kill themselves, popping the question will stop them, even if you don't even know their name? And then Lynn just moves the stranger into her apartment, and pretends to be a lesbian (I think Lynn was bisexual anyway but that's another can of paint) to keep this person alive? At that point I knew the show was grasping at straws. It was still good through Season 6 but after Toni left I lost interest. -- Submitted By: (JTScomments) on September 7, 2014, 1:42 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Toni left and then they randomly replaced Jabari. Not a good idea! -- Submitted By: (JTScomments) on September 7, 2014, 1:38 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
The only Monica episode I liked was "Everybody Hates Monica", because Lynn told Monica to her face that her and Maya hated her, after Monica overheard them talking about her. That was pretty realistic (ppl overhear other ppl talking about them in real life sometimes). I liked how Lynn didn't back down and just straight up told her. Plus I love drama. Lol. But later on in the season, the writers started making Monica and the Girlfriends become friends. UGH! If Toni was still around, Maya would have never invited Monica to her fish fry or to the other parties they had. All of a sudden, they're all friends with their former archnemesis. I liked it better when they hated Monica. -- Submitted By: (JTScomments) on September 7, 2014, 1:33 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
I think the show JTS when Toni and Todd got married. It just seem totally out of character for Toni to marry a dude like Todd. I know he was a doctor, but still, they had like zero chemistry and Toni is too shallow to have married a dude that short and corny. -- Submitted By: (JTScomments) on September 1, 2014, 6:18 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
When Toni and Joan fell out for the fourth time in a row!!! -- Submitted By: (JTScomments) on September 1, 2014, 6:17 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
I realize that Los Angeles must be different from the rest of the world, but the Girlfriends cast needs to get a reality check. You can't treat people the way they treat each other and still hang out with them. Maya calling everyone bitch, Joan harping and moralizing, Toni's spoiled ass demanding everything from her husband and not spending her "Not Going Back to Fresno" ($250,000!!!!) fund to help get them out of debt. (BTW, according to the show, he doesn't even know she has an account with that amount in it...) Lynn is a slutty, lazy idiot who spent a whole season with one guy who wouldn't sleep with her (good for him!) and another season with a guy SHE had to support (good for him!). When Lynn's not slutting around, she's mooching off each of her friends--the running joke is "Who's going to take Lynn?" What is she, five? They all back-stab each other: Toni telling the boss that Joan's boyfriend is a sex addict, Joan telling Toni's boyfriend that Toni cheated, all of them not speaking to each other for months over dumb crap that normal people talk through. -- Submitted By: (JTScomments) on September 1, 2014, 6:16 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
