TV Shows - CatDog

CatDog was a cartoon that aired on Nickelodeon in 1998. It was about a cat and dog who are conjoined at their waists. They both consisted of only their torso's upper half. It starred Jim Cummings as the cunning and uptight Cat, and Tom Kenny as the naive but happy-go-lucky Dog. They live in a house with Winslow the wisecracking mouse (voiced by Carlos Alazraqui), and were terrorized frequently by the three members of the Greaser Dog gang: Cliff the tough bulldog, Lube the dullwitted hound, and Shriek the female poodle who has a secret crush on Dog. CatDog also had to contend with the shifty Rancid Rabbit (voiced by Billy West), a green rabbit who tricks the two into doing his bidding or earning him money.

1 Once when I was a kid watching this, my grandpa walked in the room and stopped and stared at the tv, then said, "What's that?" I replied, "CatDog" and then she paused and said, "How'd that happen? Hope it was an accident, cuz that's illegal in all 50 states" -- Submitted By: (JTScomments) on September 10, 2014, 3:14 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
2 While not one of the best cartoons ever, I liked CatDog. I loved the voice of Jim Cummings as cat. Everyone asks the same question: "How do they go to the bathroom?" I was hoping I could find some clues. Like when Cat licks himself, Dog coughs up a hairball. When Dog eats hot sauce, Cat burps out flames. I remember one episode where Lola (the third wheel) caught them in the act. All we saw was Dog stand there, close his eyes and sigh. Then Lola snapped a picture. Dog was upset because she learned the secret of how they went to the bathroom. On Lola's part, that was sick. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on April 5, 2011, 5:56 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
3 This show may not have been that great, but I would be dishonest if I said I wasn't a fan of it when I was younger. -- Submitted By: (cartooner) on April 3, 2011, 8:58 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote

5 After season 2, that it started sucking. It was great in the first two seasons. It had hope, but a certain sponge came along & ruined everything. -- Submitted By: (FlxibleMetro9150) on October 9, 2009, 11:43 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
6 I think this is where cartoons in general took a turn for me. CatDog was loud and brash and really had no subtlety to its humor, leading to a lot more loud-mouthed and smart-ass characters in cartoons. Plus, how does he use that bathroom. HOW!? -- Submitted By: (SamuraiPanda201) on July 22, 2009, 12:48 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
7 My oldest son used to enjoy this show when he was about five. Some clever writing for its time. Disappeared in the wake of "Sponge Bob," however -- Submitted By: (GregEichelberger) on July 15, 2009, 1:09 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
