Tori Amos (born Myra Ellen Amos; August 22, 1963) is an American pianist and singer-songwriter. She was at the forefront of a number of female singer-songwriters in the early 1990s and was noteworthy early in her career as one of the few alternative rock performers to use a piano as her primary instrument. Some of her charting singles include "Crucify", "Silent All These Years", "God", "Cornflake Girl", "Caught a Lite Sneeze", "Professional Widow", "Spark", "1000 Oceans", and "A Sorta Fairytale", her most commercially successful single in the U.S. to date.[2] As of 2005, Amos had sold 12 million albums worldwide.[3]

Her last few cd's have been way too long, she should have pruned them down. It's no fluke that her strongest albums (Little Earthquakes, Under the Pink, Choirgirl Hotel) are all less than an hour long. -- Submitted By: (John63btf) on November 28, 2011, 7:11 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Her first two albums are pure magic but after that we start the slide downwards, too much experimentation for the worse when all we want is what she does best, play her piano and sing, keep it simple Tori! -- Submitted By: (terror) on May 18, 2011, 2:17 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I will agree that Scarlet's Walk was her last great album, and her 90s stuff was much better. I can listen to her 90s albums straight through and marvel at their originality and the talent of the artist. Her newer stuff has some good moments, but I never find myself listening straight through anymore, I just pick through the good songs and throw out the filler. That being said though, she is still a hell of a lot better than the commercial, manufactured, rap-based crap that clogs up the charts and the radio these days. -- Submitted By: (Runfromcheney) on February 18, 2010, 9:12 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
She committed the ultimate sin of a great artist: She became boring. -- Submitted By: (Spooky) on May 21, 2009, 9:56 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
