Random Topics - Peanuts (comic strip)

Peanuts is a comic strip created by the late Charles Schultz. It was launched in 1950. It starred the hapless but determined Charlie Brown, his beagle Snoopy, his sister Sally, who has a crush on his friend Linus; the bossy and crabby Lucy, the tomboyish Peppermint Patty whose bespectacled friend Marcy emphasizes this by calling her "sir", and Pigpen, who is eternally surrounded by a cloud of dust.

His name was Schulz, not Schultz. Please get the name right. Anyway, I'm kind of glad that he never planned on having a successor to do the strip. It just wouldn't have been the same. -- Submitted By: (JayD) on August 3, 2011, 8:00 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Peanuts were a pretty decent comic strip and cartoon, hell it even had a memorable song that The Weather Channel would use for years to come. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on August 2, 2011, 1:01 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
Forgive me, but I never found the strip funny. And my opinion got worse when I saw Its your First Kiss Charlie Brown. -- Submitted By: (Mr.Zimpy) on January 2, 2011, 6:46 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Peanuts was a staple of my comic-reading in my youth - I still like it to this day. R.I.P. Sparky, you touched many with Peanuts. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on October 21, 2010, 1:35 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
Shultz was an undeniable genius. Rest in peace, Sparky. -- Submitted By: (BrianBuck) on January 15, 2010, 8:41 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
Greatest comic strip ever. Schultz knew how to do it right. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on December 7, 2009, 6:19 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
I remember someone on the Scottish Site defended the changes made on Daria by saying if we wanted some stagnant, frozen in time snarkers, we should read Peanuts. I told this person to say what they would about Daria but Don't. Dis. Peanuts. Without Peanuts, every comic strip would be Family Circus and every TV show would be Full House. Chilling thought, isn't it? -- Submitted By: (Melissa) on December 7, 2009, 5:03 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
The greatest comic strip ever! I liked everything from the comics to the holiday specials and even Hallmark products, such as greeting cards and ornaments! I've outgrown giving out Peanuts cards for holidays and occasions now, but I can still never get enough of the Peanuts! -- Submitted By: (SVN) on September 16, 2009, 4:38 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
Hey Eugene, I have the first four books in that "Complete Peanuts" set. Without a doubt, the greatest and most legendary comic strip of all time, anyone who thinks otherwise is crazy. -- Submitted By: (ScottyB) on August 1, 2009, 2:52 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
Peanuts is getting its due in the ongoing release of The Complete Peanuts in hardcover volumes. Each one has two years of the original strip, and there will be 25 volumes in total by the time the full run of the strip is reprinted. Nothing could be more appropriate for what was probably the most groundbreaking comic strip of the latter half of the 20th century. -- Submitted By: (Eugene) on July 24, 2009, 9:41 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Although I think pre-1946 "Gasoline Alley" close, I have to agree that Sparky outdid everyone else with this strip! Reading the almost 5 decades worth is as close as one can get to reading the Bible in a comic strip in that there's so many unexpected twists, turns, dramas, philosophies, laughs, reflections in addition to the rules! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on July 12, 2009, 11:47 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
Possibly the best comic strip of all time. You're a good man, Charles Schultz. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on July 11, 2009, 2:06 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
this is still ,in my opinion, the GREATEST comic strip ever. -- Submitted By: (EricP) on June 11, 2009, 8:04 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
