New York City, the most populous city in the United States since 1790, is the hub of the New York metropolitan area, one of the most populous urban areas in the world. 1 The best of the three major cities and the best city in the US (even today), however it was the 1960s that NYC boned the fish. It suffered terribly and never recovered. The answer...attract yuppies from out of town and displace the natives, homeless, and ethnic-Americans. The city may have turned around, but not in the right way. However, NYC still has some of its classic self remaining. At least isn't that much like Chicago (as nasty as it gets) or LA (runner up, but spoiled big time with flakes). New York's boroughs gave the world many legends and innovators too. History would be downright different without the existence of New York City. -- Submitted By: (ProfessorBone) on November 12, 2013, 9:07 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote

3 DolFan, don't worry. I've got plenty of disdain for L.A. as well. Living close to it has made that disdain only grow. You think you wouldn't get sick of sunshine, but when you have to deal with a huge number of flakes, you grow tired of it. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on May 6, 2010, 7:25 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
4 Kingbk, I'd still take NYC over LA any day. Seriously, if you bash one, you *have* to bash the other. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on May 6, 2010, 6:55 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
5 Too many people, too much concrete, way too expensive, grimy, dirty, crazy. I've never gotten the love for New York and I don't think I ever will. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on May 6, 2010, 11:02 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
