KFC, founded and also known as Kentucky Fried Chicken, is a chain of fast food restaurants based in Louisville, Kentucky. KFC is a brand and operating segment, called a "concept", of Yum! Brands since 1997 when that company was spun off from PepsiCo as Tricon Global Restaurants Inc. The restaurants are known as Poulet Frit Kentucky or PFK in the province of Quebec in Canada. In France, however, the chain is known as KFC. KFC primarily sells chicken in form of pieces, wraps, salads and sandwiches. While its primary focus is fried chicken, KFC also offers a line of roasted chicken products, side dishes and desserts. Outside North America, KFC offers beef based products such as hamburgers or kebabs, pork based products such as ribs and other regional fare.

around me all the kfc's are mysteriously "catching fire" right after one another and going out of business. gee I wonder why? -- Submitted By: (wambamsam) on January 30, 2013, 10:00 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I notice a lot of food at restaurant chains don't taste as good as they used to...McDonald's fries, BK fries and chicken tenders, Wendy's burgers and fries, even KFC chicken. I'm thinking the ban on trans fats might be the culprit, but many foods changed taste before the ban took effect. After the ban, the foods changed even more. When canola oil is used to cook food, it ruins the flavor, big time. Peanut, corn, and sunflower oils seem to make the foods taste better. Chick-fil-A cooks their chicken with peanut oil, and it tastes good. They once cooked their fries the same way, and they were tasty...but one day, they didn't taste so good, and we soon found out why: They now cooked their fries in CANOLA oil. -- Submitted By: () on March 15, 2012, 11:59 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
I don't think it's been the same since they scrapped the rotating barrel signs AND turned it from Kentucky Fried Chicken to the acronym [too many syllables to say?]I haven't eaten there in ages and don't miss it. However; if one wants the best fried chicken possible, I say go to a local mom n' pop meat-and-three that has the best, most detailed customer reviews in an online city search! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on March 10, 2012, 12:12 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Their chicken is very overrated.. Church's is much better -- Submitted By: (stryker73) on March 9, 2012, 6:47 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
There is some things that KFC is good for, but I can agree with the chicken. Some of it is good, but a lot of it is greasy as all hell -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on March 9, 2012, 5:56 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
I think it's safe to say they probably did change their recipe. I haven't been to KFC in a LONG time. I've been seeing these adds for their chicken pot pies. I'm not sure that I trust KFC employees enough to pot my pie, just saying. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on March 8, 2012, 4:42 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I don't go to the Colonel as much as I used to. I find their chicken to be very greasy these days. I prefer the fried chicken you can get at Safeway and it's cheaper too. -- Submitted By: (JayD) on March 8, 2012, 2:15 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
I think my tastes have just outgrown most fast food. I used to love the stuff as a kid, but as I've gotten older I just feel like I'm being spoonfed grease. I love fried chicken, but KFC is not my favorite. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on March 8, 2012, 11:35 am - (3 votes) - Login to Vote
Tell me it's not just nostalgia.....but the chicken hasn't tasted the same in about five or six years to me -- Submitted By: (phil610) on March 7, 2012, 10:30 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I remember when KFC was a nice place, it was a great clean establishment, and the food was delicious and actually not bad for your health. Then Colonel Sanders sold the business for 2 million dollars and the new owners made sure you are ingesting 269 percent of your daily intake of saturated fats, skimped out on the recipe so it tastes like wood, and insure that you will eat so much grease you can lube up your own car and the cars in your neighborhood. -- Submitted By: (Mr.Zimpy) on January 2, 2011, 6:07 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
When I was a teenager, the chicken was to die for. But then, I assume they changed something because now, the chicken is usually undercooked and tasteless. Sorry KFC, you lost me as a customer forever. And what pimply faced idiot decided KFC was a better name than Kentucky Fried Chicken? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. -- Submitted By: (JustLooking) on October 9, 2010, 5:55 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Grilled chicken was meh for me...the food is still good, but rather pricey. Still, I indulge in some KFC every so often, if only to give a big loud "F*** you" to PeTA. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on August 11, 2010, 11:52 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Grilled chicken. Need I say more? -- Submitted By: (FlxibleMetro9150) on October 9, 2009, 2:24 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I know it aint so cheap no more once you go and include a drink. I quit drinking soda a long time ago cause it bad for you. I be sticking to Ice Tea or water. -- Submitted By: (shanequia) on September 21, 2009, 4:42 pm - (-1 votes) - Login to Vote
The food is still good, but when they started having their value meals not include a drink (along with Long John Silvers) that is what did it for me. You end up paying almost $10 after tax to add a drink. -- Submitted By: (MCS) on September 20, 2009, 9:43 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
we eat here all the time. i know it greasy but it still taste good. when we was kids mama sometime buy the extra crispy which i hated. i tell her why not you just buy the regular and put a few peices on the back porch in the sun they be extra crispy in no time and she slap me. -- Submitted By: (shanequia) on August 30, 2009, 10:36 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I already knew that from past experience, I was just posing a rhetorical question :-) BTW guess what I did yesterday? I bought a $5 footlong from Subway. With chips and a drink. Take THAT, KFC!!! -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on July 10, 2009, 5:38 pm - (-1 votes) - Login to Vote
Could someone explain to me how one $5 meal could be cheaper than another $5 meal? The only way KFC would win that argument would be if they mean cheaper as in having less quality! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on July 10, 2009, 1:50 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
DolFan- There's a good reason they don't answer that question: their food is awful. -- Submitted By: (GranApp) on July 10, 2009, 12:12 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Okay, I never paid much attention to KFC one way or the other until these new smarmy ads boasting about how *their* $5 meal is sooo much cheaper than Subway's $5 meal. That's nice, but is the FOOD better? They somehow never get around to answering that question. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on July 8, 2009, 12:34 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
