Celebrities - Michael Bloomberg

Michael Rubens Bloomberg (born February 14, 1942) is an American businessman and the current Mayor of New York City. He was listed as the eighth-richest American, with a net worth of US $16 Billion, in the Forbes 400 on Sept. 17, 2008, making him the richest resident of New York City, ahead of David H. Koch. He is the founder and 88% owner of Bloomberg L.P., a financial software services company. A lifelong Democrat before seeking elective office, Bloomberg switched his registration in 2001 and ran for mayor as a Republican, winning the election that year and a second term in 2005. He was frequently mentioned as a possible independent candidate for the 2008 presidential election and fueled that speculation when he left the Republican Party in June 2007 to become an independent. There was also speculation that he would run as a vice-presidential candidate. Bloomberg did not, however, seek the presidency nor was he selected as a running mate by any of the presidential candidates.

1 if i want a 44 oz. soda or saturated fat in what i eat (which i don't) then that's my choice.. you have no right to play god with people's eating habits, good or bad. go to another country where freedoms are very limited, i'm sure you'll fit right in -- Submitted By: (stryker73) on August 31, 2012, 1:12 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
2 Mayor Bloomberg, I've already got a Mom to tell me to eat my veggies and don't stay up too late, I don't need another one. -- Submitted By: (BrewMaster) on August 29, 2012, 8:27 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
3 This guy is so self indulgent it makes me sick. Hmm my term is up, how about we extend them for me? Hmm I hate guns, how about we try to ban them? Hmmm let's put cameras everywhere and spy on people. Bloomberg's soda idea is so idiotic and dumb that I really hope it's shot down before it has a chance to pass. However, in PCville New York, where you must always be progressive, I'm sure it will pass. You know because banning things always works... 4 Independent, my butt. I know what an independent is, and he's no independent. His latest act of idiocy is banning large soda sizes...so now, if you're at a movie theatre and have eaten a lot of popcorn, you can't buy a large soda anymore. The only way to slake your thirst is to buy two sodas. If you go to 7-11 on a hot day, say good bye to the large cup for $1.59. If you're thirsty enough, you gotta buy 2 small ones for $1.19 each. As a result, you're getting less than your money's worth. And wouldn't two soda cups be more damaging to the environment than one large soda cup? -- Submitted By: (Robert) on August 28, 2012, 2:35 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
5 And now I hear not too long after the theater shooting in Colorado, Bloomberg opens his big mouth and demonstrates how he's so out-of-touch with reality - he urged police to go on strike even when it is RIGHT THERE in the contract that striking is illegal and therefore is not an option. Bloomberg's off his rocker if he thinks a police strike would make things better. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on July 28, 2012, 10:00 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
6 Let's see: he couldn't get the Olympics, he could't get the Jets to move back, and couldn't get a new stadium built for football. His big accomplishments will be to shut down traffic on 34th street so that he can stoll along the street, and never mind what that does to business. He only represents himself and he bought himself the hobby of being mayor so that he could try to force his opinion on the City of New York. -- Submitted By: (PrinceJ) on August 1, 2010, 7:04 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
