In the first place I don't want to go to Cuba. If I get sick maybe I'll got to Canada or England. One of the things that our country is built on is the right to free speech even to badmouth the system on which it's built a little is acceptable. I don't think that MM or myself are against capitalism just that it needs to cleaned up a little bit. The idea is that some people are profiting by exploiting the suffering of others such as the people in "Sicko" and perhaps some other way of providing medical treatment would be better than robbing the poor and the disabled of every last dime you can squeeze from them. The insurance companies are shown clearly to be crooks and I think that MM makes sense here in a lot of ways. Atleast it's examining alternatives. MM just makes movies like any other producer or director and I'm not bothered by the fact that he gets paid for it. Better to give your money to an honest film maker than a crooked insurance company. We knew when we paid our money at the box office that a percentage was going to the people who made it which is more than we can say for the insurance companies. Why is it that people who create music or movies are expected to work for free? Like anything else the entertainment industry takes money to make money. Capitalism works just fine but why should it work for only a chosen few? It needs to be cleaned up a little bit from time to time. From the looks of things we might be able to learn a lesson form our neighbors up north or across the sea. It is certainly food for thought and that's what we're all about is the freedom to speak and to think. -- Submitted By: (lrbloom) on January 20, 2011, 6:13 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I just love it when another one of these phonies comes along and bitches how america is horrible, how america is a terrible place, how america is a greedy capitalist empire. Yet they live in the country they hate, are richer than you and me, and seem to never give their money to anybody. Michale Moore is one of the worst types of Left-wing Nutjobs, since everything is a conspiracy with him, he acts like a homeless man on the sidewalk shouting the end is near. Just shut up and live in your comfortable mansion you phony. -- Submitted By: (Mr.Zimpy) on January 20, 2011, 5:30 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
lrbloom- the reason that many of us feel that MM and RATM are just plain old hypocrites is, if they really hated that crazy capitalist thing, then move to Cuba, or even ask to move in with the dear leader in North Korea (much less likely- I see Cuba as a real possibility), liquidate all of their assets, and earnings, and give them to the state, and work for the state producing art, for the Communist state. The NK thing probably is not possible, Im not sure you oculd get in, but Im sure Cuba would welcome both with open arms, and would allow them to produce their art. And if they are true believers in a socialist state, they would have state sponsored conerts, films, and live like everyone else. In fact, then they could both campaign and promote for capitalists to emigrate to Cuba and be socialists, if it was indeed so great. So until something like that happens, I will gladly (and accurately) call both of these entities what they are, hypocrites. You can bash capitalism all you want, but when you are hip deep in it bad mouthing it, don't expect anyone with an IQ above room temperature to take you seriously. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on January 20, 2011, 3:33 am - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
I don't think that Michael is a hypocrite. He makes sense most of the time but sometimes he gets carried away. For example in "Bowling For Columbine" where he goes after Charton Heston or Dick Clark. Clearly DC isn't responsible for the poverty stricken employee in his outfit and this has nothing to do with the original concept of the movie which was gun control in the USA. The trouble is that when people like MM or RATM complain is that those in a position to change the things that we don't like about capitalism don't listen. Therefore the people who buy the tickets are all stuck in the same rut of not being able to get anyone to listen. So, MM and RATM get rich off of the support of people that really can't do anything about the things about capitalism that we'd like to change. They end up with an audience that's like them except poorer. Then come the cries of hypocrosy because all anyone can do is shout about changeing the world to people that don't listen and if we are all hypocrites then everybody will shut up and let the rich, powerful and political hypocrites win. The hypocrosy is not in the capitalism itself just in the fact the nobody is listening yet. It's an evasive tactic. Money or the lack of it doesn't make anyone a hypocrite. I admire what he is doing and hope someone listens someday. -- Submitted By: (lrbloom) on January 20, 2011, 12:06 am - (-3 votes) - Login to Vote
That's a tough one, PYLrulz. After mulling it over for the past few days, I'd say both Moore and RATM are equally hypocritical - just the biggest hypocrite in their respective field. If it wasn't for Moore using his Oscar acceptance speech (he won for Bowling For Columbine long ago) as an opportunity to bash Bush, I probably would have said RATM, hands down. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on July 3, 2010, 8:02 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote

Michael Moore is a loudmouthed hypocrite. He whines and kvetches about capitalism being so "evil" - newsflash, lardball...capitalism was WHAT MADE YOU SO FILTHY RICH IN THE FIRST PLACE! -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on June 24, 2010, 9:14 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote

I'd like to see Michael Moore do a documentary on $cientology. Why? Because they would come after him. It's easy to rip Bush/Republicans, or even health care, an Elderly Charlton Heston etc. Go after $cientology, they are dangerouse to their members, have tons of wierd secrets, and are a blight on this country. And oh yeah, they actively attack their critics- so Michael Moore, would have my respect and patronage if he went after them. But that would require courage, and balls, which I don't think Mr. Moore has. Keep on bashing Bush, it's easy, and most of all- SAFE. Your true calling is our there Mr. Moore, you are just too afraid to tackle it. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on January 25, 2010, 7:35 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Granted, the guy is an excellent film maker, however, the way he spins stuff, and tries to push his agenda, I just wish someone would straight up tell him to shut the hell up. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on January 25, 2010, 4:49 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote

I saw Michael Moore on some talk shows recently. He seems either confused, stupid, or mentally ill, or possibly a combination of all three. -- Submitted By: (quimbyt) on October 6, 2009, 5:32 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
God bless the guy for believing in what he does and being so passionate in his delivery. I could talk about how he uses creative editing to push forward his agenda while completely disregarding any opposing viewpoints. Then he has the nerve to call him movies documentaries. They should call them crockumentaries. The cherry on top has to be his latest movie Capitalism; A Love Story. Someone should tell Michael that capitalism is what makes it possible for him to continue to make movies and write books and enjoy the profits that enable him to continue his career. -- Submitted By: (JoeBagODonuts) on September 17, 2009, 9:23 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I think Michael Moore was the one who REALLY masterminded 911. There's just as much proof of that as there is that Bush was. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on July 12, 2009, 8:11 pm - (3 votes) - Login to Vote

Regardless of his politics, I haven't liked Michael Moore since the very beginning of his documentary career in the late 1980s, when his tactics for making "Roger and Me" bordered on stalking Roger Smith. Moore had a legitimate beef about Smith's decisions, but he p1ssed away his own credibility with his borderline-stalking tactics and spin-doctoring approach to editing his footage. Moore has for a long time held the title of "asinine buttinsky blowhard" as far as I'm concered. Now we can add "fish boner" to the list: "I have an order of coleslaw and lemon juice for a Mr. Michael Moore!" -- Submitted By: (Mythigator) on June 30, 2009, 7:52 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Boned when I grew up and realized he was not a hero, but a fraud. I started taking video editing classes in high school when his TV Nation show was on the air. I then started noticing there was significant editing going on. Sometimes they would ADR (dub) in Moore dialogue in post making it look like he had delivered a witty zinger right to some CEO's oblivious face when in fact he hadn't said anything. I started to realize that everything Moore does is being manipulated to look like he's a genius hero and those he disagrees with are fools. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on June 16, 2009, 12:48 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
