Listen to Josh Groban's I am a gangster. It hit the nail on the head what rap music sounds like. -- Submitted By: (Lillith) on March 16, 2010, 7:10 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote

Rap is not music. I do agree that it has contributed to a decline in society. Singing about sex and violence is real clever. What kind of parents let their kids listen to this? -- Submitted By: (MCS) on November 8, 2009, 4:06 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Gangsta rap ruined it. There was a defining turn for me when MC Hammer came onto the scene. But it was for the better, introducing fly girls and dance flavor rap. Social awareness rap was still there and strong along with this. Then probably around 1999 as someone said, it became mostly about gangsta rap -- getting laid and hanging your thang out. The dance rap that remains pretty much melded into hip hop now with some good results. But rap as it once was had truly died and boned. -- Submitted By: (ocfernan) on October 2, 2009, 5:43 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Anyone else besides me just wish all these "east coast" and "west coast" rappers got into this huge gunfight and killed each other off? -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on August 17, 2009, 2:52 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Rap died between Gansta Rap doing a drive by on fun and excessive Bling Rap. -- Submitted By: (scatcatpdx) on August 10, 2009, 11:57 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
This isn't music, it's just a breeding ground for the scum and trash of this world. -- Submitted By: (ScottyB) on July 30, 2009, 12:32 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
RAP IS CRAP!!! And it's contributed FAR more to societal decline than so-called "Satanic" rock music. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on July 8, 2009, 12:27 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Rap/Hip Hop is nothing more than the illegitimate child of Disco. It should've fizzled out like a bad fart 15 years ago. There were some fun jams back in the late 80's/early 90's, but after that it was just unbearable. -- Submitted By: (BrianBuck) on June 15, 2009, 7:58 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I listeend to KRS ONE and PUBLIC ENEMY TODAY- man has rap/hip hop gone downhill alot since their time in the early nineties. Rap seems to be more about namechecking cars, clothes and jewelry than having a message these days. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on May 10, 2009, 8:37 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
It started to bone, when Tupac, & Biggie Smalls was gunned down. Then it boned more around 1999. -- Submitted By: (FlxibleMetro9150) on May 10, 2009, 8:34 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
For me, rap hasn't been good since 2000. And it REALLY Boned The Fish around 2003. -- Submitted By: (McT) on May 6, 2009, 9:27 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
