when doug switched to disney the show became preachy and cheaply made and it lost billy west and his hilarious voices. the plots were recycled from pepper ann which seemed to be one saturday morning policy (four shows one plot) (still loved the block though. the perfect chaser to pokemon) -- Submitted By: () on February 10, 2012, 1:01 pm - (1 votes)

I thought I'd never see classic Doug again, what with Disney buying it from Nickelodeon. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on September 3, 2011, 1:33 pm - (0 votes)

I believe Mr. Dink's wife being elected mayor actually happened on the Nick version, not the ABC/Disney version, if I remember correctly -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on August 29, 2011, 4:40 pm - (0 votes)

The Nick version of Doug was great! After Nick canned it and ABC/Disney picked up the show for new episodes, at first I was excited about it but then looking back it at now, I can plainly see why the Disney version stunk so badly and why Billy West (the original voice of Doug on the Nick version) greatly detested Disney's Doug. Advancing the kids from like 5th grade to Junior High, Doug gets a little sister in Dirtbike (whom, IMO didn't mind much) but the other changes were unnecessary (i.e. Patti stops wearing the skirts and even cut her hair short, Roger goes from a bully living in the slums who sometimes you can't help but sorry for at times to his and his family winning the lottery and living rich and becomes far less of the bully that he was on the Nick version, Connie went from a chubby cute girl to a somewhat stuck-up skinny girl, Mr. Dink's wife becomes mayor, etc., etc., etc.). -- Submitted By: (markiemark6891) on August 29, 2011, 10:37 am - (0 votes)

As a little kid, I didn't really know there was a Disney's Doug and a Nicklodeon's Doug. All I knew is that Doug and his friends is older and little different when they was on ABC Saturday's mornings. I think for most parts it never bone but the character Roger himself. Roger BTF when his family got rich and no longer Doug's bully. -- Submitted By: (SSM) on April 23, 2011, 4:24 am - (0 votes)

I even remember the first episode on ABC. It was like they presented everything that everyone knew about the Nick version of the show, and virtually took a sledgehammer to it. I think that was almost unprecedented having a show just completely change like that, all in one shot. Normally, if you are going to do that, you are doing that over time, not with one big nuclear bomb. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on May 10, 2010, 8:50 pm - (1 votes)

When the show moved to ABC and became Disney's Doug. Billy West was smart to leave the show, it tanked. Doug gets a baby sister, Roger becomes rich, the Honker Burger closed down, Patti cut her hair and turned into kind of a snot, new characters were added, and much more. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on May 10, 2010, 4:22 pm - (2 votes)

I loved this show when it was on Nick, so when I heard it was going to be on ABC a few years later, I was happy about it. Sadly, had I known that Disney was going to take the fillet knife in this fish and really bone it, I never would of even thought of this show.
Probably one of the worst cases of a show getting boned BAD. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on December 4, 2009, 1:33 pm - (1 votes)

Disney ruined it. Like so many other things in the world. -- Submitted By: (FlxibleMetro9150) on October 9, 2009, 12:47 pm - (1 votes)

Hello? Has the person who voted "Never Boned" never heard of the Disney revival of Doug? If that person is not an idiot, Ringo Starr is Jewish. I didn't really mind the addition of Doug's baby sister, but those Disney morons introduced changes to the show that made it suck. The Disney version was very overrated. -- Submitted By: (Marcus) on August 4, 2009, 12:55 pm - (0 votes)

When the Show moved the ABC/Disney it went to H***. They gave Doug a baby sister, (another unneeded baby addition), they changed the drawing style (what happened to everybody's haircuts?) and the webbed foot kid joke got old, fast. -- Submitted By: (Johnny_T._Bird) on June 28, 2009, 10:49 pm - (0 votes)

This show was horrible. Doug was one of the whiniest wussies on all of TV. -- Submitted By: (MCS) on May 27, 2009, 10:16 pm - (-4 votes)

When Doug became "Brand Spanking New Doug", it was a Bone-a-fide Bone the Fish moment. Everything changed for the worst, and one prime example was Doug getting a new baby sister. As you know, the addition of a baby to a TV show is a bad idea. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on May 11, 2009, 1:40 pm - (1 votes)
