TV Shows - Josie and the Pussycats

Josie and the Pussycats (called Josie and the Pussy Cats in the opening titles) is an American animated television series, based upon the Archie Comics comic book series of the same name created by Dan DeCarlo. It was produced for Saturday morning television by Hanna-Barbera Productions, airing on CBS. The series started its life in 1970 as an all-female counterpart to the Archies, and in 1972 was re-conceptualized as Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space. The Pussycats finished their television run in 1976

Boned big-time when they went to outer space. It was Alexandra's fault they went to outer space in the first place (she shoved her way in front of the band posing for publicity photos, they all fall inside the ship (no thanks to her), she "accidentally" activates the ship and off they go). And anytime Josie and the others helped out some alien race with their problems and they were headed back to Earth as a reward, it was usually Alexandra who pulled a Gilligan and knocked the ship off-course. Why they tolerated that two-faced bitch, I'll never know. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on July 2, 2013, 7:46 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Archies knock-off and Day 1 BTF. Also, in retrospect, you gotta wonder about those outfits ... was there some fetishism amongst the show's creators? If someone floats idea of women prancing around a stage wearing cat costumes, Saturday morning cartoons is NOT the venue that comes to mind! -- Submitted By: (Mythigator) on June 29, 2013, 9:39 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
OK, I messed up that credit but the only viddles I'd be feeding Audrey would be Agent Orange!LOL -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on October 8, 2012, 7:49 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Pelirojo:Jackie Joseph did not voice Betty on the Flintstones. bea Benadaret to 1964 then Gerry Johnson did (before Josie),Jackie DID voice NMelody and play Audrey as you spoke of on the Roger Comran Little Shop of Horrors., Now.,...FEED ME! -- Submitted By: (PokeyJHorse) on September 29, 2012, 8:18 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Josie was OK, but when they went to space, they sailed through the fish nebula. And that little alien? It's hideous. And pointless, as they already have Sebastian the cat. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on November 23, 2011, 2:52 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Stephanie, The name of the ditzy blonde was Melody! I remember this because I don't recall her ever actually SINGING a melody. What's more interesting about her is that her speaking voice was performed by Jackie Joseph (who'd voiced Betty Rubble in "The Flintstones" and before that had played Audrey in the original "Little Shop of Horrors") and her singing voice was Cheryl Ladd (yep, Farrah's Replacement Angel!) -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on February 10, 2010, 10:54 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Who was the name of that ding-bat blonde who was the drummer? Melody? Melanie? I specifically remember Alexandra's cat named Sebastian who was always part of her diobolical schemes to undermine Josie. Great theme song, though! "Josie and the Pussycats. Long tails and ears for hats...." -- Submitted By: (Stephanie) on February 9, 2010, 11:22 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote

Kids stuff get so annoying because the outcome that would really happens- NEVER HAPPENS- look at Transformers the animated movie, we loved it because the characters got slaughtered wholesale in times of conflict, how long did you want to see Megatron really frag someone? OR Starscream get his comeuppance- I agree Josie should have airlocked that bitchy brunette!! -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on May 3, 2009, 12:15 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Just ONCE I'd have liked to have seen Josie REALLY let the skunk-haired Alexandra have it instead of being so annoyingly 'patient'. It would have done no harm since their manager Alan was discomfitted by Alexandra's trying to steal him from Josie and even their producer Alexander couldn't STAND his twin sister but didn't have the cojones to keep her away! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on May 3, 2009, 11:21 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Orko? Uni? Snarf? Chim Chim? Were they the most annoying "cute" side kick caharacters everyone hated of all time? NO!! that title is held by "Gleep" from the Josie and the Pussycats psychedelic move to outer space in the mid 1970's. How bad and annoying can a show and character be? Damn you to eternal Cartoon Hell Mr. Gleep! -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on May 1, 2009, 6:01 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
