Donkey Kong Country is a platform video game developed by Rare, featuring the character Donkey Kong. Following an intense marketing campaign, the original SNES version sold over 8 million copies. 1 This was really fun when it came out! 24 years later, and it is STILL better than many more modern games! -- Submitted By: (TomPettyFan) on June 2, 2018, 11:21 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I can't comment on the more recent releases of this game, but I greatly enjoyed the games that were on Super Nintendo. The graphics were outstanding (for the time) Music was very well composed, and it was challenging. Overall good series of games. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on August 27, 2013, 9:09 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote

Awesome game. The music was cool, the graphics were ground breaking for 1994, there were lots of little secrets, it had a sense of humor, it was challenging but fair. It was one of the few games (along with Mario and Street Fighter II) that brought me and my friends together for a period of time without getting bored if it wasn't our turn at playing. Never boned. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on November 2, 2010, 10:22 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Never boned. My favorite out of the lot was Donkey Kong Country 2. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on November 1, 2010, 9:15 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
SamuraiPanda, you can actually download the entire DKC trilogy through the Wii's Virtual Console! -- Submitted By: (SVN) on November 6, 2009, 9:12 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I think the core series, the Country series 1, 2, and 3, are definitely the strongest of the bunch. And since the Land series on the GameBoys were more or less remakes of those, I basically consider them the same games. 64, in my opinion, was slightly weaker. They just didn't put a lot of thought into a lot of elements in the game that remain under-developed. Also, I didn't see the worth in making new characters. It should've just been Donkey, Diddy, Dixie, and Kiddy, and they could've added that weird orangutan one for kicks. The other two new Kongs in that game weren't all that special. I would love to see the Country series return for the Wii or the DS. They're just excellent games with excellent gameplay. It'd be much better than these odd Konga drum things or whatever they are. -- Submitted By: (SamuraiPanda201) on October 2, 2009, 1:07 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I apologize to the guy below, but the Rareware series of "Donkey Kong" games are the best games ever made! I played all 3 of the Super NES DKC games, and I even played "DK64" on the Nintendo 64! I also played their Game Boy counterparts as well. Don't worry; it's just an opinion! -- Submitted By: (SVN) on August 28, 2009, 6:21 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
OMFG! Whoever voted "never boned" must be a mentally ill, retarded freak! There should be a mob uprising to overthrow the people who made this game in the first place! They should all be murdered in the streets along with anybody who liked this game! See how stupid you sound, Marcus? -- Submitted By: (Dropmurphy) on July 18, 2009, 4:08 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Donkey Kong's popularity was starting to go down a little in the early 90's, but thanks to Donkey Kong Country, DK is cool again. DKC never boned. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on June 9, 2009, 7:06 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
