Random Topics - Boston Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox are a professional baseball team based in Boston, Massachusetts. The Boston Red Sox are a member of the MLB's American League Eastern Division. Since 1912 the Sox have played in Fenway park, the team name originates from it's iconic uniform feature. The club was founded in 1901, as of the American League's eight charter franchises. They were a dominant team in the new league defeating the Pittsburgh Pirates in the first World Series in 1903. They won four more championships by 1918, and then went into one of the longest championship droughts in baseball history, which ended in 2004, when the team won their sixth World Series Championship. Since 2003, the Red Sox have competed in four ALCS, have won two World Series, and have emerged as arguably the most successful MLB team of the last decade.

They no longer became the underdogs. After winning the 2004 and 2007 World Series. I just didn't like the attitude that followed up after those wins. Yes, after the 2004 win, it was high time to be celebrating after nearly a century without a championship. The "we finally did it" thing being preached and so on. Then after that, we won the 2007 series. And now we think we can posture ourselves around? Um, no. Because, as a franchise, they still don't have over 20+ championships under their belt. So, no reason to be all arrogant about it after a couple wins. Besides, what happened to the team after that? One player after another disappeared, some players are getting tired of the team occasionally (Ortiz), oh no! some players who partook in the 2004 series win were suspected of doing steroids years later. It was just one thing after another that slowly diminished the Red Sox from being lovable losers into lovable hypocrites. -- Submitted By: (Infyrin) on September 22, 2013, 7:12 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Finally boned after 2004, turned into a sellout team. -- Submitted By: (JoseTwitterFan) on January 25, 2013, 6:56 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
And this past season, they just absolutely BLEW!!! I love it! Too bad though the Patriots will prop up that arrogance that plagues Boston sports fans. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on January 20, 2013, 1:16 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I am happy that the Red Sox choked like a whore on a dick (the Braves too, being a Phillies fan). Hopefully, that choke job will knock the Boston fanbases arrogance a few pegs. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on October 1, 2011, 2:54 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Cartooner, at least the Braves and Red Sox come close. I've been a long time Astros fan and I'll tell you the last few seasons they've made it real tough to be a fan. Having the worst record in all of baseball is not something to take pride in. Plus, continuously changing the roster, I have no clue, anymore, who is on the team. We have the Phillies old GM, Ed Wade. How ironic is it that he left there and the Phills started playing better baseball. While the Astros have been on a steady decline. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on October 1, 2011, 1:07 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I feel that the Red Sox (along with the Atlanta Braves) made a new boning a few days ago, by completely choking their chance at a playoff spot. -- Submitted By: (cartooner) on September 30, 2011, 10:04 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Like the old song goes, "Meet the new empire, same as the old empire...." The swiftness with which the Sox, and far too many of their fans, adopted the insufferable arrogance and entitlement mentality of their greatest rival was breathtaking to behold. One could almost wish for a new 86-year curse to descend on them..... -- Submitted By: (Soggy9000) on April 25, 2011, 1:48 pm - (2 votes) - Login to Vote
Dol, agreed in every way. When they did what they did to the Yankees, it was a nice, heartwarming thing that happened, seeing the "Evil Empire" get beat like that. Now, the Red Sox have become the very thing that Red Sox fans have hated. And do not get me started on all of the bandwagon jumpers that have jumped on, claiming that they were long suffering fans (don't believe me? Go to a Orioles game whenever they play the Red Sox.) -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on December 3, 2009, 5:48 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
The Sox rocked when they finally overcame their curse in a dramatic comeback over the villainous Yankees that would make the Rocky movies look tame. Then they boned the fish by winning the most boring, anticlimactic World Series of all time and becoming exactly like the Yankees in every way. Now they're the Evil Empire Lite. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on June 11, 2009, 4:20 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
