Law is a system of rules, usually enforced through a set of institutions.[3] It shapes politics, economics and society in numerous ways and serves as the foremost social mediator in relations between people. Writing in 350 BC, the Greek philosopher Aristotle declared, "The rule of law is better than the rule of any individual.

There isn't a thing you can do anymore without breaking at least twenty laws at once. Laws are like a trick book for humans. -- Submitted By: (Infyrin) on October 8, 2013, 7:44 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Dol, I agree that the system is fouled up. But I don't believe America was "taken over" by anyone, so I recognize no such correlation as you describe. The fact is that justice has been uneveny applied, and laws inconsistently enforced, since our country's earliest years. What we see today is hardly a recent phenomenon. A good number of the social movements you probably resent were a sort of backlash against an environment in which laws were often not enforced as they should have been. I should add here that it strikes me as strange that we are saying "Law" itself boned the fish. That's the sort of viewpoint one would expect from anarchists and criminals who resent the existence of laws in the first place. If we are going to debate whether the American justice system, or the American legal code, has gone past its prime, the topic on this page should be named The American Justice System or The American Legal Code instead of the vaguely-defined word "Law". -- Submitted By: (Soggy9000) on May 6, 2011, 3:09 am - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
Haha, I knew Soggy would disagree :-) But seriously, there's a direct correlation between the liberal takeover of America in the 60s and the increasing ineffectiveness of the rule of law since, to the point where even non-celebs today get away with anything and everything. What's the point of even having law if it's always going to be circumvented? -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on April 29, 2011, 7:10 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
Oh brother. I'd say more but what's the point? "Dang them ol' libruls anyhow...." -- Submitted By: (Soggy9000) on April 28, 2011, 7:50 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
When liberals took over America and decided that all those pesky annoying laws like don't kill, rob, rape, etc. didn't apply to them. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on August 17, 2009, 2:58 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
