My Name Is Earl was hilarious! And it had a very positive message too! Such a shame that it was cancelled too early, and ended on a cliffhanger! -- Submitted By: (TomPettyFan) on July 1, 2018, 2:58 am - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I loved this show! Say what you will about ignorant unwashed white trash trailer rats, but Earl and his crew were downright funny. I also thought it was sweet the way Earl looked after his kid brother who was obviously "a little slow" and incapable of caring for himself. I also liked the way he still cared for his ex-wife although she was a scheming manipulative scum bucket thief and whore. Jason Lee and Jaimie Pressly were hysterical together. -- Submitted By: (martymarty) on June 7, 2014, 12:14 pm - (1 votes) - Login to Vote
I refused to watch this show because the trailers made it seem like a bunch of white trash morons running around aimlessly. Then I actually watched an episode and fell in love with it! Earl and his extended family (his brother, his ex-wife, crab man) were all very funny and played by excellent actors. I loved the premise, that a no-good petty thief could actually turn his life around and do good in an effort to pay his karma-debt. -- Submitted By: (jmac9909) on January 13, 2014, 9:52 am - (5 votes) - Login to Vote
This was certainly an original show, didn't start watching it until late, and then NBC cancelled it, so I could have been a fan, but oh well. Caught some early episodes in syndication and found them funny, started to watch the reruns, and then the show was pulled from syndication. Jeez, no love for Earl. -- Submitted By: (Englebert) on November 25, 2013, 10:24 pm - (4 votes) - Login to Vote
I was forced to watch this one as well at a friend's house as well (the watcher guarded the TV jealously). The episode I saw involved Earl, his wife, his brother, and the top part of a wedding cake. At one point, the wife takes it out of the fridge, opens the foil wrapper, and asks why there's a dog turd in there. The brother asserts that it's actually a cat turd, and that he knows nothing about it. He even remembers when he did the deed: he ate the cake against the woman's orders, sees the cat in the litter box, and goes, "I could hide what I did AND clean the litter box at the same time!" OK, I'll give it the benefit of a doubt, that this could have been one of the suckier episodes, but this joke should have been scrapped in the writing room. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on January 14, 2012, 12:57 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
I liked this show at first because it didn't seem like a clone of other shows. It was sort of like one of those old shows from the 60's about some wacky characters in the south - you know not too bright but they mean well - and I liked the jokes about heavy metal bands - but the thrill soon wears thin. I could live without fart jokes and I hate to say it but most of the characters on this show are just plain dumb. Jason Lee was cool in "Almost Famous" but his character here is annoying as he and his brother and Joy are all such dimwits. The "Prison" epsiode and the one where I think it was Norma Crosby played "Crabman's" boss or something. Some of the episodes are actually kind of hard to follow and there are times when I wish the Earl would just go get a job. -- Submitted By: (lrbloom) on March 1, 2011, 8:33 pm - (0 votes) - Login to Vote
