Bone The Fish - Most Recent Comments!

Who said you can't coin your own term? What is "Boning the Fish"? It's a moment. A defining moment when you know that your favorite TV Show, Celebrity, Movie Series or Music Group has reached its peak. That instant you know from now on...it's all downhill. Some call it a climax of sorts. We call it "Boning the fish". From that moment on things will simply never be the same.

United States Congress - Random Topics
It should be worth noting that around the time of the SOPA fiasco, the approval rating for Congress was around 9%. Not only is this lower than the lowest approval rating for any president since presidential approval ratings tracking began in the 1930s, but, from one comparison I saw, it's lower than the approval ratings for the IRS, lawyers, banks, and BP during the oil spill. -- Submitted By: (cartooner) on November 17, 2012, 5:09 pm

Christmas - Random Topics
The local mall in my area got Santa out first weekend of November. Let the turkey die first before we even entertain the thought of Santa and Christmas music and such. Hell, if the "Christian" nutballs wonder why there is a "War on Christmas", it's because we get bombarded with Christmas stuff so early, and get sick of it so quick!!! -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on November 15, 2012, 12:40 pm

I saw that, but with a resolution this quick, I suspect the accuser was paid off. (TMZ says it was a six figure payout.) Regardless, we now for a fact that this guy trolls for hookups with dudes half his age, and used Sesame Street's computers to do so. This runs contrary to the whole clean-cut, nice-guy family man image that documentary portrayed. Elmo is still a lousy character and Kevin Clash is creepy. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on November 15, 2012, 12:34 pm

Yeah, Pixar too. I remember when they were going to go off and do their own thing, then Disney turned around and just bought them out. Anyhow, I really don't know what to make of the Lucasfilms purchase. On one hand, George Lucas ruined the original trilogy with those loathed digital re-edits. Since he's so addicted to CGI, maybe it's a good thing. Another plus is Disney might know there's Hell to pay if they DARE Disney-fy the Star Wars trilogy. On the other hand, there's Disney sequelitis, and we could someday see Star Wars XIV: The Search for More Money. Oh, wait...that was Spaceballs II. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on November 3, 2012, 10:43 pm

Truth be told, I'd feel more optimistic re the news of the purchase of Lucasfilm were Uncle Walt still at the helm inasmuch as HE would have done his derndest to have steered the 'Star Wars' enterprise away from the pointless track of cynicism, evil celebrated and sadism that's pervaded it ever since Lucas gave the EU writers free rein after 'ROJ' 's original release.Under Uncle Walt the original themes of good triumphing over evil, redemption and mercy would have been brought back but with whoever's running Disney these days, I'm not so sure! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on November 3, 2012, 4:15 pm

The WGN which airs locally in Chicago is not the same as WGN America. Basically, the only programming the two separate entities both air are Cubs baseball games and the local Chicago area news. While WGN America airs the likes of Scrubs, Til Death, Matlock, In the Heat of the Night, Walker Texas Ranger and America's Funniest Home Videos, the local WGN in Chicago airs programming such as 30 Rock, Friends, Andy Griffith Show, a 5 hour daily morning news program, Live with Kelly and Michael and Two and a Half Men. They think Pokemon encourging kids to abuse animals. *SMH* PETA even made a flash game mocking Pokemon even Pokemon are "free" from their "masters" and attacks them. Back then, Muslims got along well with Christians and Jews. However, one day, the extremists took over and kicked out everyone who was not a Muslim from Jerusalem, which was the trigger for the Crusades. I think Mike Lupica put it best (paraphrasing here): The players went on strike in 1994 because they were afraid the owners would unilaterally impose a salary cap in the absence of a CBA. However, when the owners actually tried this, the courts (Sonia Sotomayor) told them that they couldn't, which ended the strike toward the end of Spring Training 1995. Antenna TV (if Cablevision ever brings it back) beats the hell out of TV Land now. I think the beginning of the end for TV Land was when they started showing reality garbage like "She's Got The Look" (40 and 50-somethings competing to be models for gay guys - and how are they experts on beautiful women if they're gay guys?) and "High School Reunion" (like I really care about a "hedging lesbian's" experimental "date" and didn't know how that would go, unlike the dumb guy who wasted his time with that - and she wasn't even cute so you hoped she'd "stay gay" which she did). I'm not a big profanity advocate. Don't get me wrong, but Stir Crazy was an R-rated movie, and this channel wasn't censoring "F" or "S". They were censoring "ass kisser" to say "brown nose" instead. Nobody wants their kids going around saying "ass kisser", but what the censors did there is take the unexpectedness out of the joke, and that was what made it funny. The guy Gene Wilder said it to threatens to punch him out....for calling him a brown nose? No, but for calling him an "ass kisser", it kinda makes sense. That's all I'm saying. St. Patrick's Day - Random Topics
Parker Tillman: How do you know that *wasn't* the real reason for the snakes being driven out? ;-) Gotta love how this is the only day of the year anybody wears green. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on August 30, 2012, 8:05 pm

Nudity - Random Topics
I think there should be a law passed that only good looking people should ever be seen nude. HA!!! Just kidding. But you just *know* there will be a nude calendar of women over 80 coming out somewhere soon, and you also know people will act like it's sexy. -- Submitted By: (DolFan316) on August 30, 2012, 8:01 pm

Sun Tanning - Random Topics
I'm with you, Parker on this. Even as a kid visiting the beach, I never could understand how these folks could just lay there and broil like lobsters whilst there were all kinds of waves to ride, shells to collect and castles to build from the sand. And now some folks put themselves in tanning coffins which puts how many extra UV rays into the skin?! No thanks! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on August 29, 2012, 6:36 pm

Oh, and additionally - this might cross more over to discussion of pornography, but whatever - pooping, peeing, 20-something nudes, granny nudes etc; as long as it is not illicit whatever personally floats your boat. Different strokes for different folks. -- Submitted By: (johnnydough) on August 29, 2012, 6:30 pm

Nudity - Random Topics
@Robert. Pooping and peeing have a certain hygeine element to them, being buck naked does not. The way we see nudity (at least in most of the English speaking world) - or are made to see nudity is sexual, where it is not. It being natural is a reason to not be so uptight and make people feel more comfortable. Basically, it makes the human body tabboo - do you want to not be able to look at yourself as such? As for the 70-something year olds, all fine - freedom of choice and all that cal. -- Submitted By: (johnnydough) on August 29, 2012, 6:21 pm

Major League Baseball - Random Topics
The major problem with baseball is marketing. The NBA and NFL are so popular because they both have excellent marketing. The NBA markets superstars, the NFL markets the league itself, making every game a big event. MLB is super popular in the Northeast, Chicago and California, but it struggles in some other areas of the country because we don't hear about the stars or the league or really anything. I must say, though, that this baseball season is one of the best in recent memory. A lot of talented teams, exciting players, just a lot of fun to watch. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on August 29, 2012, 1:28 am

St. Patrick's Day - Random Topics
I like the concept of St. Patrick's Day, but I don't like how it's a free pass for people to get hammered and act like idiots. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on August 29, 2012, 1:25 am
