Bone The Fish - Most Recent Comments!

Who said you can't coin your own term? What is "Boning the Fish"? It's a moment. A defining moment when you know that your favorite TV Show, Celebrity, Movie Series or Music Group has reached its peak. That instant you know from now on...it's all downhill. Some call it a climax of sorts. We call it "Boning the fish". From that moment on things will simply never be the same.

New England Patriots - Random Topics
After the Patriots lost to the Ravens in the postseason, I heard that Bill Belichick decided to be a sore loser and refuse to give any post-game interview regarding the game. Seeing as he got a slap on the wrist for Spygate, I strongly doubt the NFL will take any action on him displaying poor sportsmanship. As long as Belijerk is the Patriots' head coach, I doubt I'll be liking them anytime soon. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on January 23, 2013, 6:14 am

Is the World Cup fun to watch? Yes. Sadly though, you get idiots a plenty in FIFA who try to ruin it, or worse. And the corruption?!? Don't get me started on that. Annoying Orange, The - Random Topics
There are certain YouTube video series that I love. For instance, "The Downfall" parodies are hilarious, watching as Hitler gets made a fool of everytime, or something bad happens to him, usually because of Fegelein. The Annoying Orange though is on the other end of the spectrum. There are certain "YouTube Poops" that are better than this garbage. Unwatchable! -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on January 21, 2013, 1:03 am

And old story about Comcast and my dealings with them. Years back, my family wanted to get cable back in the house again. So we call Comcast to have someone hook us up. Days go by, no one comes out, even after repeated calls. My dad got so pissed off, by the time someone from Comcast DID come out, he read them the riot act, and apparently, the guy got so scared, he just hooked up the cable, no questions asked, and left, didn't get any other info down or anything. Got free cable for years because of it (until they decided to get DirecTV a few years afterwards) -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on January 19, 2013, 11:43 pm

ultimately the issue is that these corporate characters enver have an "end" to the story- Wolverine has been the plucky outsider for 35 years now, Peter Parker is a teen, married, then a teen again. It's like the story of Hagar the Horrible, he makes you laugh in the papers each week, and it' status quo for 60 years. Go read indy comics or Manga, it's for the adult that enjoys real stories, not Marvel's shcok and CHANGE OF THE WEEK to drive sales into their corporate coffers. -- Submitted By: (Chubby Rain) on January 7, 2013, 9:13 pm

Dang! I came in here, hoping there would be other black viewers who would have the same opinion as I on BET, yet, it is obvious by the top vote that nobody but whites have been in this forum ..*sigh* ...and WHY do y'all keep on w/ the rhetorical questions of a BLACK entertainment Network, etc.? Do you ask women why there is a need for a Women's Day magazine? Do you even question gays on the LOGO channel? Talk about HYPOCRISY! ..and you do not need a WHITE entertainment channel, when 90% of the people you see on tv is white ..I betcha RIGHT NOW that if I turned on the tv to a random station, a white face will appear. So, WHY would I put a label on things in my own home? And BET was conceived back in the early 80s, when MTV, which is, supposedly, a GENERAL music station, WOULD NOT PLAY any black videos! ..But anyways ...BET jumped shark when Bob Johnson sold out to Viacom, and shows w/ substance were removed, such as BET News, BET Tonight (w/ Tavis Smiley), Lead Story, Teen Summit, Video Soul, Carribean Rhythms, etc...and these shows were replaced w/ series, etc., that promoted negativity, such as American Gangsta, BEEF ..and they began to show "Baby Boy" and "Soul Plane" all the time... I think I gave a response that TRULY answers why the channel jumped shark -- Submitted By: () on December 22, 2012, 1:57 am

Where do i possibly begin?? BET boned the fish when they got rid of Free & AJ, thus ruining the original 106 & Park. Ask anybody, EVER SINCE Free & AJ have been gone, 106 which was one of their major programs, has sucked complete ass. Rocsi was always beyond annoying. BET also got rid of the original Rap City: The Bassment with Big Tigga. The channel is so unpredictable as far as the line-up. For example once they played Moesha a few times. Then u don't see it come on again for maybe 6 months. WTF? They also did the same thing with One On One. A lot of ppl like those shows and they are quite popular, but they only show them once or twice in a blue moon and then start showing garbage shows like "My Wife & Kids" and "The Bernie Mac Show" which are both unfunny with bad acting. BET also plays the same movies over & over (if i flip through the channels and see "Daddy's Little Girls" one more time i'm going to go AWOL). Love & Basketball is a great movie and they only play that like once a year. BET is so hit and miss that it's beyond annoying and not worth bothering with most of the time. -- Submitted By: (Icemouth) on November 28, 2012, 11:02 am

I think Burger King's burgers aren't half-bad. The Double Stacker, their cheeseburger, Whopper, etc. I like the fact that they have that flame-broiled flavor that most burger places don't have. Also they actually use real hamburger, and believe it or not, McDonald's and quite a few other fast food chains do not. Their chocolate milkshakes are pretty damn good as well. I think their lack of popularity generally comes from ppl being so stuck on McDonald's but, don't knock it if u haven't tried it for yourself, the Stacker is just as good as, if not better than McDonald's cheeseburgers. Before u hop aboard the "I Hate BK" bandwagon, they do have some items that are good. -- Submitted By: (Icemouth) on November 28, 2012, 10:43 am

It's not really the studio that can bone or whatnot, since *any* studio is going to release some duds and if there is an array of classic, fantastic films the number of duds will only be larger. What is the matter for the mostpart is when they try to replicate their successes (i.e. Shrek) by countless sequels and/or superficial versions (e.g. like Shark Tale being an "underwater Shrek"). There is still potential for them to stand on their feet with Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon by going in their own paradigm. -- Submitted By: (johnnydough) on November 25, 2012, 5:33 pm

It's been years since I've bothered with it mainly because it stops about every two minutes to have some Broadway celeb/soap star do a song+dance in front of the Sidewalk Red Star for the NBC cameras. Sorry, but when I watch a parade I want to see it MOVE! Anyway, while that's a personal preference, what REALLY caused it to bone as far as I'm concerned is when just DAYS after all the allegations came out that prompted Kevin Clash to abruptly retire for 'personal reasons', they had the ELMO FLOAT! Black Thursday. Words are not vile enough to describe this trend, born this year. It's wrong for businesses to force their employees to miss their family's holiday so they can work the pre-Black Friday rush. It should be illegal. To those who protest by refusing to go to work on Thanksgiving, I salute you! To those who stay outside the store and get the CEOs thinking "Look at all these people who want to shop, we should open early", you should be ashamed of yourself. The Christmas season should officially begin on the day after Thanksgiving. Not in October, not in September...the day right after Thanksgiving. To be fair, it's not the Christians' fault this holiday's been hijacked by commercialists. They're getting fed up of all the commercialism as well, including myself. For the record, I get sick of the constant bombardment/overexposure as well. And it's really annoying to hear a Christmas song (like Carol of the Bells, Jingle Bells, Deck the Halls, etc.) with lyrics changed to peddle a product or service. Thanksgiving - Random Topics
Boned not because of the holiday itself, but because of greedy corporate retailers like Target and Walmart who are opening at 9 PM on Thanksgiving day. If these assholes would simply open at 6 AM on Black Friday, they would still make the same amount of money and people could at least enjoy their Thanksgiving. Of course, blame also goes to all idiot shoppers who line up outside these stores hours before they open, thereby encouraging earlier openings. -- Submitted By: (John63btf) on November 20, 2012, 2:32 pm

Walgreen's in my city stripped down the Halloween stuff November 1st and put the Christmas stuff up THAT day without even a second to consider Thanksgiving! I like the day itself and, as a Christian, I like take the time to reflect on His Birth and Life on that day but how greedy can retailer's be? Oh, and I could only find frankincense there- NO gold or myrrh at Walgreens! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on November 19, 2012, 10:31 am

Elmo - Random Topics
Can we finally retire Elmo? The fact that the puppeteer for the character is a sick pedo is beyond the point, the character was always the worst of the Sesame Street lineup and now we have a good reason to move on from him. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on November 18, 2012, 11:49 pm

United States Congress - Random Topics
It should be worth noting that around the time of the SOPA fiasco, the approval rating for Congress was around 9%. Not only is this lower than the lowest approval rating for any president since presidential approval ratings tracking began in the 1930s, but, from one comparison I saw, it's lower than the approval ratings for the IRS, lawyers, banks, and BP during the oil spill. -- Submitted By: (cartooner) on November 17, 2012, 5:09 pm

Kevin Clash is a pedo? Forget it, I *DO* have a beef with Kevin Clash. The victim recanting his story was probably paid to shut up. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on November 15, 2012, 7:07 pm

Christmas - Random Topics
The local mall in my area got Santa out first weekend of November. Let the turkey die first before we even entertain the thought of Santa and Christmas music and such. Hell, if the "Christian" nutballs wonder why there is a "War on Christmas", it's because we get bombarded with Christmas stuff so early, and get sick of it so quick!!! -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on November 15, 2012, 12:40 pm

I saw that, but with a resolution this quick, I suspect the accuser was paid off. (TMZ says it was a six figure payout.) Regardless, we now for a fact that this guy trolls for hookups with dudes half his age, and used Sesame Street's computers to do so. This runs contrary to the whole clean-cut, nice-guy family man image that documentary portrayed. Elmo is still a lousy character and Kevin Clash is creepy. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on November 15, 2012, 12:34 pm

Regarding the recent accusations of Kevin Clash: According to this article (http://www.avclub.com/articles/the-accuser-in-the-elmo-sex-scandal-has-recanted-h,88720/), the guy who made the allegations recanted his story (meaning, he took it back). -- Submitted By: (cartooner) on November 14, 2012, 7:40 pm

OK, forget everything I said about Kevin Clash allegedly being a nice guy. Yeeesh. I guess now I can hate Elmo 100% without any guilt. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on November 12, 2012, 5:41 pm

Disney - Random Topics
Yeah, Pixar too. I remember when they were going to go off and do their own thing, then Disney turned around and just bought them out. Anyhow, I really don't know what to make of the Lucasfilms purchase. On one hand, George Lucas ruined the original trilogy with those loathed digital re-edits. Since he's so addicted to CGI, maybe it's a good thing. Another plus is Disney might know there's Hell to pay if they DARE Disney-fy the Star Wars trilogy. On the other hand, there's Disney sequelitis, and we could someday see Star Wars XIV: The Search for More Money. Oh, wait...that was Spaceballs II. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on November 3, 2012, 10:43 pm

Truth be told, I'd feel more optimistic re the news of the purchase of Lucasfilm were Uncle Walt still at the helm inasmuch as HE would have done his derndest to have steered the 'Star Wars' enterprise away from the pointless track of cynicism, evil celebrated and sadism that's pervaded it ever since Lucas gave the EU writers free rein after 'ROJ' 's original release.Under Uncle Walt the original themes of good triumphing over evil, redemption and mercy would have been brought back but with whoever's running Disney these days, I'm not so sure! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on November 3, 2012, 4:15 pm
