Bone The Fish - Most Recent Comments!

Who said you can't coin your own term? What is "Boning the Fish"? It's a moment. A defining moment when you know that your favorite TV Show, Celebrity, Movie Series or Music Group has reached its peak. That instant you know from now on...it's all downhill. Some call it a climax of sorts. We call it "Boning the fish". From that moment on things will simply never be the same.

You said it. I remember how excited I was to find out that they were coming out with PacMan for the the Atari 2600 only to be disappointed greatly when I saw how incredibly lame it was compared to it's 'Coin-Op'relative. Even then I knew that the 2600 could only do so much, but was that the best Atari could do with it or did they just slap something out in development and rush it out? I think what is being got at, is that if there was a channel that was dedicated "White TV", not just normal everyday stuff like most of the stations out there, it would be viewed upon as extremly racist. Dang! I came in here, hoping there would be other black viewers who would have the same opinion as I on BET, yet, it is obvious by the top vote that nobody but whites have been in this forum ..*sigh* ...and WHY do y'all keep on w/ the rhetorical questions of a BLACK entertainment Network, etc.? Do you ask women why there is a need for a Women's Day magazine? Do you even question gays on the LOGO channel? Talk about HYPOCRISY! ..and you do not need a WHITE entertainment channel, when 90% of the people you see on tv is white ..I betcha RIGHT NOW that if I turned on the tv to a random station, a white face will appear. So, WHY would I put a label on things in my own home? And BET was conceived back in the early 80s, when MTV, which is, supposedly, a GENERAL music station, WOULD NOT PLAY any black videos! ..But anyways ...BET jumped shark when Bob Johnson sold out to Viacom, and shows w/ substance were removed, such as BET News, BET Tonight (w/ Tavis Smiley), Lead Story, Teen Summit, Video Soul, Carribean Rhythms, etc...and these shows were replaced w/ series, etc., that promoted negativity, such as American Gangsta, BEEF ..and they began to show "Baby Boy" and "Soul Plane" all the time... I think I gave a response that TRULY answers why the channel jumped shark -- Submitted By: () on December 22, 2012, 1:57 am

This isn't related to the Oscars (rather, the Golden Globes), but the Golden Globes nominations this year have quite a lot of snubs. Where do i possibly begin?? BET boned the fish when they got rid of Free & AJ, thus ruining the original 106 & Park. Ask anybody, EVER SINCE Free & AJ have been gone, 106 which was one of their major programs, has sucked complete ass. Rocsi was always beyond annoying. BET also got rid of the original Rap City: The Bassment with Big Tigga. The channel is so unpredictable as far as the line-up. For example once they played Moesha a few times. Then u don't see it come on again for maybe 6 months. WTF? They also did the same thing with One On One. A lot of ppl like those shows and they are quite popular, but they only show them once or twice in a blue moon and then start showing garbage shows like "My Wife & Kids" and "The Bernie Mac Show" which are both unfunny with bad acting. BET also plays the same movies over & over (if i flip through the channels and see "Daddy's Little Girls" one more time i'm going to go AWOL). Love & Basketball is a great movie and they only play that like once a year. BET is so hit and miss that it's beyond annoying and not worth bothering with most of the time. -- Submitted By: (Icemouth) on November 28, 2012, 11:02 am

I think Burger King's burgers aren't half-bad. The Double Stacker, their cheeseburger, Whopper, etc. I like the fact that they have that flame-broiled flavor that most burger places don't have. Also they actually use real hamburger, and believe it or not, McDonald's and quite a few other fast food chains do not. Their chocolate milkshakes are pretty damn good as well. I think their lack of popularity generally comes from ppl being so stuck on McDonald's but, don't knock it if u haven't tried it for yourself, the Stacker is just as good as, if not better than McDonald's cheeseburgers. Before u hop aboard the "I Hate BK" bandwagon, they do have some items that are good. -- Submitted By: (Icemouth) on November 28, 2012, 10:43 am

It's not really the studio that can bone or whatnot, since *any* studio is going to release some duds and if there is an array of classic, fantastic films the number of duds will only be larger. What is the matter for the mostpart is when they try to replicate their successes (i.e. Shrek) by countless sequels and/or superficial versions (e.g. like Shark Tale being an "underwater Shrek"). There is still potential for them to stand on their feet with Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon by going in their own paradigm. -- Submitted By: (johnnydough) on November 25, 2012, 5:33 pm

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade - Random Topics
It's been years since I've bothered with it mainly because it stops about every two minutes to have some Broadway celeb/soap star do a song+dance in front of the Sidewalk Red Star for the NBC cameras. Sorry, but when I watch a parade I want to see it MOVE! Anyway, while that's a personal preference, what REALLY caused it to bone as far as I'm concerned is when just DAYS after all the allegations came out that prompted Kevin Clash to abruptly retire for 'personal reasons', they had the ELMO FLOAT! Did the Macy's organizers truly believe that anyone would have been upset had they just 'retired' the character? There are no words. -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on November 24, 2012, 2:36 pm

Black Thursday. Words are not vile enough to describe this trend, born this year. It's wrong for businesses to force their employees to miss their family's holiday so they can work the pre-Black Friday rush. It should be illegal. To those who protest by refusing to go to work on Thanksgiving, I salute you! To those who stay outside the store and get the CEOs thinking "Look at all these people who want to shop, we should open early", you should be ashamed of yourself. The Christmas season should officially begin on the day after Thanksgiving. Not in October, not in September...the day right after Thanksgiving. To be fair, it's not the Christians' fault this holiday's been hijacked by commercialists. They're getting fed up of all the commercialism as well, including myself. For the record, I get sick of the constant bombardment/overexposure as well. And it's really annoying to hear a Christmas song (like Carol of the Bells, Jingle Bells, Deck the Halls, etc.) with lyrics changed to peddle a product or service. Boned not because of the holiday itself, but because of greedy corporate retailers like Target and Walmart who are opening at 9 PM on Thanksgiving day. Yeah, Pixar too. I remember when they were going to go off and do their own thing, then Disney turned around and just bought them out. Anyhow, I really don't know what to make of the Lucasfilms purchase. On one hand, George Lucas ruined the original trilogy with those loathed digital re-edits. Since he's so addicted to CGI, maybe it's a good thing. Another plus is Disney might know there's Hell to pay if they DARE Disney-fy the Star Wars trilogy. On the other hand, there's Disney sequelitis, and we could someday see Star Wars XIV: The Search for More Money. @Pelirojo - I recall reading somewhere that a study conducted some time ago came to the conclusion that lack of meat in one's diet leads to brain shrinkage. PETA is proving how true that study is in spades with the stupidity they spew time and time again. I mean, that idiotic "Got Beer?" campaign (drink beer instead of milk ( -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on October 21, 2012, 7:12 am

Are you all KIDDING?! These Pokemons are FICTIONAL characters so what's the point of PETA protesting the treatment much less attempting to concoct ersatz versions of them! Besides, kids who are into these things aren't exactly famous for taking care of REAL critters. How many members of 4-H Clubs are Pokemon fans anyway? Talk about bogus timewasting! -- Submitted By: (Pelirojo) on October 18, 2012, 6:22 pm

Based on the performance of the last two "moderators" why don't they just go all in and tap Michele Obama for the next one? I'd be the same result. -- Submitted By: (BrewMaster) on October 18, 2012, 12:23 pm

Dairy Queen - Random Topics
Thanks for the warning, Jp. You want to know something? I suspected their chicken tenders were what made them sick. I planned on trying them, but none of the Dairy Queens I've visited have them. Now I know why. Sticking with fast food chicken tenders. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on October 15, 2012, 9:01 pm

Good desserts, but awful regular food. There's a reason it's called "Dairy Queen", not "Burger Queen." -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on October 12, 2012, 6:30 pm

Robert, chicken tenders and french fries. Stryker, your probably right. It may pertain to that location. Any time, you eat out, your taking a risk with someone you don't know preparing your food. It just so happen to have been DQ this time. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on October 11, 2012, 8:17 am

I think a lot of diets are scams anyway. IMO, I think you need balance and moderation: meats, veggies, fruits, dairy, grains, fats, sugars, salts, etc. also beware of sauces/condiments. I think people tend to forget that your body has process those too. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on October 10, 2012, 6:12 pm

I'll make a note of that. BTW, I had some hot dogs there recently (rather pricey for mere hot dogs) and suffered no ill effects. What did they have, so I know to avoid it? -- Submitted By: (Robert) on October 10, 2012, 2:28 pm

i'm sure it was just specific to that DQ..i've never had a bad experience the few times i ate there. There's a list of fast food chains like Taco Bell that have been drug through the dirt due to food poisoning, health and sanitation concerns -- Submitted By: (stryker73) on October 10, 2012, 12:04 pm

Pokemon, Mario Takini, Super Tofu Boy etc. All their flash games would be slightly enjoyable if it were not for the fact that they are propoganda. Cheap, tacky propoganda at the best. Assinine does not even begin to describe their mentality. To PETA and anyone supporting them; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6_axWcG9BA -- Submitted By: (johnnydough) on October 10, 2012, 2:19 am

I have known some people who had been gung ho about the Atkins Diet. I always thought it was a kooky diet that can lead to irregularity because you weren't supposed to eat bread, including whole wheat. -- Submitted By: (JayD) on October 9, 2012, 11:06 pm

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) - Random Topics
I didn't really think PETA would be any more stupider than they really are after the Tannoki Mario inncident, but I was wrong, now they attacking Pokemon. They claim they stuff Pokemon into little balls and force them to perform tricks. They think Pokemon encourging kids to abuse animals. *SMH* PETA even made a flash game mocking Pokemon even Pokemon are "free" from their "masters" and attacks them. This shows they never even did any research, if they did they would know Pokemon promotes friendship and equality between people and Pokemon. -- Submitted By: (SSM) on October 8, 2012, 10:40 pm
