Bone The Fish - Most Recent Comments!

Who said you can't coin your own term? What is "Boning the Fish"? It's a moment. A defining moment when you know that your favorite TV Show, Celebrity, Movie Series or Music Group has reached its peak. That instant you know from now on...it's all downhill. Some call it a climax of sorts. We call it "Boning the fish". From that moment on things will simply never be the same.

Way too many of these being made nowadays, how many "reboots/remakes" of Superman, Batman, Spiderman etc, do we need? Plus they all seem to be trilogies, further glutting the market. -- Submitted By: (John63btf) on June 17, 2013, 6:53 pm

Montauk Monster, The - Random Topics
The Montauk Monster? Now that is a random topic. I've first heard about it on some nature mysteries program. They concluded the creature is actually a raccoon in which the nasal tissue decayed, making its snout look more like a beak. If you look up a pic of a hairless raccoon, they both look similar to each other. -- Submitted By: (Robert) on June 12, 2013, 8:40 pm

Cici's is where I started in the workforce, many, many moons ago. The only pizza I liked from there was the alfredo, with various toppings. I didn't really like their pizza sauce but because I worked for them, I got meals for free. So, I didn't complain much about it. NES (Nintendo Entertainment System) - Random Topics
The system that saved video games. If anyone remembers, video games were left for dead after the crash happened in 1984-1985. When the NES came out, it saved video games and revolutionized the genre with side scrolling games and adventure games that were never possible on Atari such as Super Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Mega Man, Castlevania and Contra. The NES wasn't perfect, as the blowing on games got old and there were a good handful of awful games released for the system. That's why I tend to rate the Super NES higher as the game library was better and the graphics/sound a vast improvement from the 8-bit days, but the NES is a classic game system that can still be pointed to as the catalyst that helped get video games to where they are today. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on June 6, 2013, 11:21 am

I recently found out that the blinking light/screen glitch is caused by a chip called the 10NES chip that was supposed to prevent game piracy, but ended up hurting the paying customers. You can find instructions online on how to disable the 10NES. Nintendo realized that they had screwed up and removed the 10NES on the revised NES-101 toploaders. Flo (Progressive Insurance) - Random Topics
Flo's constant perkiness can be annoying, and I could certainly understand someone choosing that as a BTF reason for her. However, she does do her job, as an advertising character enhancing the brand awareness of what she's promoting. And in her own odd way, she's kinda hot, particularly in the ad where she's outdoors in a rainstorm. However, Flo herself (actually her actress Stephanie Courtney) would be quick to disclaim the hotness factor, as she's been quoted as saying that the GEICO gecko "puts out more sexual vibes than Flo does". -- Submitted By: (Mythigator) on May 13, 2013, 7:31 am

Disney - Random Topics
To be fair about the princess thing, when The Princess and the Frog came out, it had been quite a while since Disney released a princess movie to theaters. Additionally, it should be worth mentioning that, in the Disney animated canon (i.e. theatrically released animated Disney movies, not counting Pixar), Disney hasn't released a critically panned animated movie since John Lasseter became the CCO of the Disney Animation Studios in 2006. -- Submitted By: (cartooner) on May 2, 2013, 8:43 pm

Disney Channel - Random Topics
I recently watched Disney channel and saw something interesting: "Have a Laugh", a segment where a classic cartoon would be shown. I was elated...FINALLY, we get to see the good old cartoons that made Disney great! I chose to watch it, but there was a red flag: the words "Short Version" on the title card. "It's 7 minutes or less. How do you make a 7 minute cartoon a "short version"?", I thought. I got my answer in the 3 minute long horror show that followed. The old music was gone; replaced by new music. Classic sound effects were replaced with NEW sound effects, and the original voices were replaced with those of the voice actors they have now. The episode was Mickey's Trailer. The scene where Goofy distracts a cow so Mickey can milk it was deleted. I was so disgusted that I changed the channel after watching the drawers smash watermelon into Goofy's face. They pulled a George Lucas...before they owned Star Wars! Their motto should be: "Disney: Withholding or desecrating the classics". -- Submitted By: (Robert) on May 2, 2013, 7:31 pm

I totally agree with Travoltron. Enough with the princesses already! Yes Disney, we get it, princesses sell well because they appeal to the 2 to 7 year old female demographic. This is America, you have a right to make a buck or two, but good God-you have overloaded us with princesses. PLEASE! You're capable of so much more. You have the money. You have access to the talent. Just give us some really cool 2D animated movies that AREN'T trying to cram princess merchandise down our throats and we might pay to go see it. And mark my words Disney, if you even TRY to princess-up Star Wars, I will loathe you forever. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on April 30, 2013, 9:54 am

Word is that they've axed their entire 2D department because Princess and the Frog underperformed. Obviously other countries like Japan can still turn out 2D animated movies that turn a profit. It's the worn-out formula of princesses, song & dance numbers, and "hip" sidekicks with celebrity voices that needs axing, not hand-drawn animation. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on April 18, 2013, 11:01 pm

National Broadcasting Company (NBC) - Random Topics
NBC is living and dying off of sports. The NFL, Olympics and PGA golf are saving this channel from complete demise. Their primetime schedule is atrocious. The only show doing competently is The Voice. Revolution is ok, but I worry that it's just another "Lost" ripoff. Grimm is ok. Everything else can and should be cancelled. I liked Community until it took itself way too seriously with it's meta humor. The Office should have left the channel two years ago. Nobody watches Today and its smug host and Jay Leno only appeals to old people. NBC is holding out hope that Bill Cosby or Jerry Seinfeld or Jennifer Aniston once again walks through the door to save the network, but there are dark days ahead with no light on the horizon. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on April 1, 2013, 1:20 pm

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Earthbound. It's just irritating that it's the only game of it's series that's been released in North America. And it's a sequel, a damn good sequel no less. But, still. It would have been nice if we had it's predecessor, Mother 1, for the NES and later on, Mother 3, for the GBA to go along with it. The recent SimCity game that came out a few days ago seems to be a huge boning moment for both the SimCity series and especially EA. For those unfamiliar with what's happening, the 2013 game requires an online connection to play. The problem? The game's server, which includes DRM, isn't working, so many people can't play it. Here's one of the many articles talking about it (http://www.nytimes.com/2013/03/09/arts/video-games/simcity-from-electronic-arts-plagued-by-server-issues.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0). To Stephanie ...I'm sorry, but it's bad enough that I had to accept Michael Jackson not being voted as #1 musical artist by VH1 (despite being a phenomenal artist and entertainer from the WOMB, who reached people across the PLANET as no other artist could - including in Africa) ..but he can't even receive his props in death - IMO, Michael Jackson's death was more SHOCKING to the WORLD (not just the Western World) than John Lennon's death - and that's not to play down the impact of Lennon's death. But anyways, I accepted when Vh1, initially, steered in that non-music direction, w/ specials like "I Love the 80s" ..and even the initial Surreal Life & Flavor of Love shows were quite entertaining (at least New York and Flavor had charisma, unlike these airheads, today, on these "reality" shows, i.e., Bad Girls Club & Desperate Ho-wives, who think that just by arguing and fighting, they are being entertaining)..but what made VH1 bone more, for me, was when they started having these lists based on "viewer polls" (what viewers?) and Maxim mag, instead of putting together lists like they used to, gathering info from radio disc jockeys (from various type stations), club DJs, billboard charts and artists, themselves ...and they'd have these shallow lists, meant to put down a person's self-esteem, listing the same damn people over and over (100 Hottest Hotties) -- Submitted By: (Lashid4u) on February 26, 2013, 7:31 pm

The only reason why the PS3 was at $600 in the first place was because of the Blu-Ray technology (which was very new & expensive at the time back in 2005/2006), & because of the cell processor architecture (also very new & expensive). This time around, it'll most likely be at, say, $400, because there won't be anything too expensive inside of it. -- Submitted By: () on February 4, 2013, 3:10 pm

Xbox 360 - Random Topics
At first, the Xbox 360 was a great system when it comes to gaming. But as the years went on by, the 360 kept on slipping & slipping in the exclusive department. Then in E3 2010, they completely gave their core fans the middle by putting a lot more focus on Kinect with their $500 million advertising. Now, with their next Xbox, they're going to be focusing more on media & more on the newer version of Kinect (which will most likely be built inside of the next Xbox) than they will be focusing on gaming. Just sad of how far Microsoft has fallen. RIP, Xbox brand (2001 to June 2010). I'm going with Sony with the PS3 & their next generation console, the Orbis. -- Submitted By: (Loghorn) on February 4, 2013, 2:56 pm

KFC - Random Topics
around me all the kfc's are mysteriously "catching fire" right after one another and going out of business. gee I wonder why? -- Submitted By: (wambamsam) on January 30, 2013, 10:00 pm

Boston Red Sox - Random Topics
Finally boned after 2004, turned into a sellout team. -- Submitted By: (JoseTwitterFan) on January 25, 2013, 6:56 pm

Annoying Orange, The - Random Topics
I sat down with my son one afternoon and watched this. He just stared at it and didn't so much as crack a smile. After the episode was over- I looked at him and said "That was just pointless." He looked at me and gave me this shrug as if to say 'Hey, it's TV. Whaddya expect?' -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on January 24, 2013, 9:52 am

New England Patriots - Random Topics
After the Patriots lost to the Ravens in the postseason, I heard that Bill Belichick decided to be a sore loser and refuse to give any post-game interview regarding the game. Seeing as he got a slap on the wrist for Spygate, I strongly doubt the NFL will take any action on him displaying poor sportsmanship. As long as Belijerk is the Patriots' head coach, I doubt I'll be liking them anytime soon. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on January 23, 2013, 6:14 am

Conspiracy Theories - Random Topics
I, too, have heard of that idiot professor spouting that nonsense claim about the Sandy Hook shooting being a hoax. There is just NO WAY something like that can be staged, plain and simple. -- Submitted By: (BigAl) on January 23, 2013, 6:08 am

FIFA World Cup - Random Topics
Is the World Cup fun to watch? Yes. Sadly though, you get idiots a plenty in FIFA who try to ruin it, or worse. And the corruption?!? Don't get me started on that. How in the hell does the US, or even Australia get passed over a World Cup in favor of some tiny Gulf shiekdom like Qatar?!? -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on January 21, 2013, 12:22 pm

Educational Television - Random Topics
I don't have a problem with it. It's just when you get it force fed to kids, and trying to make normal cartoon shows into something they are not, I have a problem with it. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on January 21, 2013, 12:20 pm

Annoying Orange, The - Random Topics
There are certain YouTube video series that I love. For instance, "The Downfall" parodies are hilarious, watching as Hitler gets made a fool of everytime, or something bad happens to him, usually because of Fegelein. The Annoying Orange though is on the other end of the spectrum. There are certain "YouTube Poops" that are better than this garbage. Unwatchable! -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on January 21, 2013, 1:03 am

Golden Raspberry Awards/The Razzies - Random Topics
Other than the aforementioned Bush Bashing that seemed to be popular at the time, the Razzies usually delivers. Plus from time to time, you can actually see what actors and actresses who don't take themselves so seriously pop up. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on January 20, 2013, 1:34 am

Boston Red Sox - Random Topics
And this past season, they just absolutely BLEW!!! I love it! Too bad though the Patriots will prop up that arrogance that plagues Boston sports fans. -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on January 20, 2013, 1:16 am

Comcast - Random Topics
And old story about Comcast and my dealings with them. Years back, my family wanted to get cable back in the house again. So we call Comcast to have someone hook us up. Days go by, no one comes out, even after repeated calls. My dad got so pissed off, by the time someone from Comcast DID come out, he read them the riot act, and apparently, the guy got so scared, he just hooked up the cable, no questions asked, and left, didn't get any other info down or anything. Got free cable for years because of it (until they decided to get DirecTV a few years afterwards) -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on January 19, 2013, 11:43 pm

Conspiracy Theories - Random Topics
With free speech, just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Some of these people spewing these Sandy Hook conspiracy theories should learn this. Especially when you cite the "facts" from some of these conspiracy theories from sites with less than credible (at the least) records). -- Submitted By: (PYLrulz) on January 19, 2013, 11:24 pm

Texas - Random Topics
Don't get me wrong I love Texas but I'll never be on board for the state to secede. I don't believe that would be beneficial to Texas or the US, IMO. -- Submitted By: (Jp) on January 19, 2013, 5:50 pm

Conspiracy Theories - Random Topics
Yeah, there's some stupid professor going around spreading that asinine theory. And because we as a society have given teachers special rights, he cannot be fired for this. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on January 18, 2013, 5:19 pm
