Bone The Fish - Most Recent Comments!

Who said you can't coin your own term? What is "Boning the Fish"? It's a moment. A defining moment when you know that your favorite TV Show, Celebrity, Movie Series or Music Group has reached its peak. That instant you know from now on...it's all downhill. Some call it a climax of sorts. We call it "Boning the fish". From that moment on things will simply never be the same.

I totally agree with Travoltron. Enough with the princesses already! Yes Disney, we get it, princesses sell well because they appeal to the 2 to 7 year old female demographic. This is America, you have a right to make a buck or two, but good God-you have overloaded us with princesses. PLEASE! You're capable of so much more. You have the money. You have access to the talent. Just give us some really cool 2D animated movies that AREN'T trying to cram princess merchandise down our throats and we might pay to go see it. And mark my words Disney, if you even TRY to princess-up Star Wars, I will loathe you forever. -- Submitted By: (Friedrich_Feuerstein) on April 30, 2013, 9:54 am

Word is that they've axed their entire 2D department because Princess and the Frog underperformed. Obviously other countries like Japan can still turn out 2D animated movies that turn a profit. It's the worn-out formula of princesses, song & dance numbers, and "hip" sidekicks with celebrity voices that needs axing, not hand-drawn animation. -- Submitted By: (Travoltron) on April 18, 2013, 11:01 pm

National Broadcasting Company (NBC) - Random Topics
NBC is living and dying off of sports. The NFL, Olympics and PGA golf are saving this channel from complete demise. Their primetime schedule is atrocious. The only show doing competently is The Voice. Revolution is ok, but I worry that it's just another "Lost" ripoff. Grimm is ok. Everything else can and should be cancelled. I liked Community until it took itself way too seriously with it's meta humor. The Office should have left the channel two years ago. Nobody watches Today and its smug host and Jay Leno only appeals to old people. NBC is holding out hope that Bill Cosby or Jerry Seinfeld or Jennifer Aniston once again walks through the door to save the network, but there are dark days ahead with no light on the horizon. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on April 1, 2013, 1:20 pm

Totally agree about the red head girl in the commercials. Super annoying. I also don't like how they stereotype men, just like all other media do as well. Men: sloppy, stupid, selfish, incompetent and lazy. Obsessed with junk food, sports and not much else. Yet criticizing them (along with criticizing Christians) seems to be okay, while anyone else is off limits. No wonder the males of our generation are so screwed up. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on March 13, 2013, 10:09 pm

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Earthbound. It's just irritating that it's the only game of it's series that's been released in North America. And it's a sequel, a damn good sequel no less. But, still. It would have been nice if we had it's predecessor, Mother 1, for the NES and later on, Mother 3, for the GBA to go along with it. Yet Nintendo just stubbornly never released those other games so we're forced to play the other ones illegally if we choose to do so. -- Submitted By: (Toasticus) on March 10, 2013, 5:30 pm

The recent SimCity game that came out a few days ago seems to be a huge boning moment for both the SimCity series and especially EA. For those unfamiliar with what's happening, the 2013 game requires an online connection to play. The problem? The game's server, which includes DRM, isn't working, so many people can't play it. Here's one of the many articles talking about it (http://www.nytimes.com/2013/03/09/arts/video-games/simcity-from-electronic-arts-plagued-by-server-issues.html?pagewanted=all&_r=0). VH1 - Random Topics
To Stephanie ...I'm sorry, but it's bad enough that I had to accept Michael Jackson not being voted as #1 musical artist by VH1 (despite being a phenomenal artist and entertainer from the WOMB, who reached people across the PLANET as no other artist could - including in Africa) ..but he can't even receive his props in death - IMO, Michael Jackson's death was more SHOCKING to the WORLD (not just the Western World) than John Lennon's death - and that's not to play down the impact of Lennon's death. But anyways, I accepted when Vh1, initially, steered in that non-music direction, w/ specials like "I Love the 80s" ..and even the initial Surreal Life & Flavor of Love shows were quite entertaining (at least New York and Flavor had charisma, unlike these airheads, today, on these "reality" shows, i.e., Bad Girls Club & Desperate Ho-wives, who think that just by arguing and fighting, they are being entertaining)..but what made VH1 bone more, for me, was when they started having these lists based on "viewer polls" (what viewers?) and Maxim mag, instead of putting together lists like they used to, gathering info from radio disc jockeys (from various type stations), club DJs, billboard charts and artists, themselves ...and they'd have these shallow lists, meant to put down a person's self-esteem, listing the same damn people over and over (100 Hottest Hotties) -- Submitted By: (Lashid4u) on February 26, 2013, 7:31 pm

But in spite of the imperfections it was a great time to be alive nice cars, sexy ladies (in spite of the tendency to go overboard with the makeup and hairspray) and it was still okay to look, it was still okay to be a straight manly man who was conservative and liked guns, the music was good and it was good to be alive back then. -- Submitted By: (JimPickens) on February 11, 2013, 1:27 am

Playstation 3 - Random Topics
@Robert: You can relax; PS4 (or Orbis) won't be as expensive as the PS3. The only reason why the PS3 was at $600 in the first place was because of the Blu-Ray technology (which was very new & expensive at the time back in 2005/2006), & because of the cell processor architecture (also very new & expensive). This time around, it'll most likely be at, say, $400, because there won't be anything too expensive inside of it. -- Submitted By: () on February 4, 2013, 3:10 pm

Xbox 360 - Random Topics
At first, the Xbox 360 was a great system when it comes to gaming. But as the years went on by, the 360 kept on slipping & slipping in the exclusive department. Then in E3 2010, they completely gave their core fans the middle by putting a lot more focus on Kinect with their $500 million advertising. Now, with their next Xbox, they're going to be focusing more on media & more on the newer version of Kinect (which will most likely be built inside of the next Xbox) than they will be focusing on gaming. Just sad of how far Microsoft has fallen. RIP, Xbox brand (2001 to June 2010). Dang! I came in here, hoping there would be other black viewers who would have the same opinion as I on BET, yet, it is obvious by the top vote that nobody but whites have been in this forum ..*sigh* ...and WHY do y'all keep on w/ the rhetorical questions of a BLACK entertainment Network, etc.? Do you ask women why there is a need for a Women's Day magazine? Do you even question gays on the LOGO channel? Talk about HYPOCRISY! ..and you do not need a WHITE entertainment channel, when 90% of the people you see on tv is white ..I betcha RIGHT NOW that if I turned on the tv to a random station, a white face will appear. So, WHY would I put a label on things in my own home? And BET was conceived back in the early 80s, when MTV, which is, supposedly, a GENERAL music station, WOULD NOT PLAY any black videos! ..But anyways ...BET jumped shark when Bob Johnson sold out to Viacom, and shows w/ substance were removed, such as BET News, BET Tonight (w/ Tavis Smiley), Lead Story, Teen Summit, Video Soul, Carribean Rhythms, etc...and these shows were replaced w/ series, etc., that promoted negativity, such as American Gangsta, BEEF ..and they began to show "Baby Boy" and "Soul Plane" all the time... Why are they doing this? It's horrible enough to picket a funeral, but to picket the funeral of a child? How sick can a person be to not only do such a thing but to claim they're speaking for God? What they are doing is hate speech, why is the law allowing it? -- Submitted By: (ExplodingConsole) on December 17, 2012, 10:56 pm

Westboro Baptist Church - Random Topics
If you ask me, the WBC is no better than the lunatic that killed all those children. They have no respect for the dead. -- Submitted By: (JayD) on December 17, 2012, 5:33 pm

Westboro Baptist Church - Random Topics
I didn't think I could hate the Westboro Baptist Church more than I already did, but now I see that they are picketing at funerals for the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting. Fuck you, WBC. -- Submitted By: (cartooner) on December 16, 2012, 8:15 pm

T.G.I. Friday's - Random Topics
I used to like T.G.I Friday until they charge their menu a few years ago. The food had became overpriced, mediocre, meh. -- Submitted By: (scatcatpdx) on December 15, 2012, 4:35 pm

Academy Awards, The - Random Topics
This isn't related to the Oscars (rather, the Golden Globes), but the Golden Globes nominations this year have quite a lot of snubs. For example, neither "The Avengers" nor "The Dark Knight Rises" were nominated for anything, and the only nomination that "Skyfall" got was for "Best Original Song." I'm also a bit surprised that neither "Paranorman" nor "Madagascar 3" were nominated for "Best Animated Feature." -- Submitted By: (cartooner) on December 13, 2012, 5:41 pm

Grammy Awards - Random Topics
You know who I'm referring to and his manager is complaining that the Believe album and its singles were snubbed. And it's such a big story that it is overshadowing the artists who were nominated. And I'm also glad that Nikki wasn't nominated either. I can't stand that clown. -- Submitted By: (JayD) on December 7, 2012, 7:34 pm

Christmas - Random Topics
The thing that annoys me about Christmas music is how many remakes there are of the same songs. I like it for about a week, then I'm burned out. I think the whole thing with radio stations flipping to an all Christmas music format for a month thing is a little too much, at least for me. I'm good with a week of it. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on December 7, 2012, 6:24 pm

Grammy Awards - Random Topics
LMFAO were nominated because they are related to the Gordys, you know, the people who founded Motown. It's one big nepotism fest, these award shows. -- Submitted By: (kingbk) on December 7, 2012, 6:21 pm

They just released the grammy nominees for 2012. For the most part, I'm happy with the nominations, but why is that awful Sexy and I Know It nominated for best pop vocal/ duo or group? At least Justin What'shisname isn't nominated for anything. -- Submitted By: (JayD) on December 5, 2012, 11:31 pm

@ExplodingConsole. Regardless of how similar the two games are, the creators of Crush the Castle seem to be good sports about it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0XGYsTI5uk Some people can be happy for others and not be possessive. -- Submitted By: (johnnydough) on December 1, 2012, 7:41 pm
